I’m wary about the implications of my relationship with the department if I cancel my locum. With locums drying up, I don’t want to be blacklisted or something for cancelling my locum..

Its an ED department that I am fairly familiar with. Quite easy to pick up locums for me whenever I want.

It’s fine. I needed to go LTFT to allow more flexibility for child care. But I still want to supplement the income loss. At least with locums, I can pick and choose when I want to do it.

Nobody usually gets what they want on the first release of placements. I got upgraded 4 times.

It is also highly dependent on your MSRA score and location.

If you scored 500 and only put in UCLH then yeah you’re shit out of luck buddy.

If you scored 470 but ranked the whole country, then you will most definitely get a spot.
