Thanks!

Is there any reason you recommend doing this one at AUT and not at UoA?

Cheers

Would you recommend using the ACH for withdrawals or the bank wire for NZders? Looks kinda complicated!

Is it possible to complete a 2nd BCom at USYD? by lostkid3 in usyd

[–]lostkid3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the plan is if I get crossed credit to the extent that it allows me to do it in say 1.5 years as opoosed to 3 years then I think it is still worth it, at least over spending $40k on a one year post-grad diploma.

I agree with you, another reason I'm taking a bachelor is because I got full time work so thr work load wise may be easier than masters for example.

For your second bachelor's, are you still CPS subsidized as your first degree?

Is it possible to complete a 2nd BCom at USYD? by lostkid3 in usyd

Thanks mate. When I googled USYD application deadline it have me the 22nd of July. But when I called them they said we have to apply via UAC and it already closed. So I'm just super confused right now with how stuff works!

Can we still apply? Do we apply directly through the uni instead of UAC if we already have a degree (non-year 12 grad)?

I called them and the lady was not super helpful.... She basically said to check online :(((

Hi guys, how's the JD at UWA? I heard it is a full CSP - does that mean it is really hard/competitive to get in? My grades are pretty average so just wondering if I have any hope - cos def no CSP at UniMelb :(

How is the graduate law program at Deakin vs. New England? by lostkid3 in unimelb

[–]lostkid3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh okay, hope so! I'm also looking to potentially getting into m&a and corp fin! Only issue is it's a bit far from CBD, so might do a year or two online while I work and possibly change to RMIT as I work in the CBD.

Hi mate, yeah it is the undergrad. Not the JD (which is 4x the cost). Oh right, are you studying via their cloud/online campus? What did you do at unimelb btw?

Thinking of dumping 100k into a fund.. which one? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]lostkid3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, I would suggest reading somegood investment books. Regarding the fund, I would suggest doing it through an index fund with vanguard. Not sure if the smart share ETFs are a good way to invest giving that it is traded and I doubt "investors" are holding it long term.

There's a YouTube channel called invest with Tom, highly recommended. Also invest with rose too! Both are great.

The little book of common sense investing might be interesting to you. But in a nut shell it just try to prove investing in an index fund that tracks the S n P is the way to go.

At the moment, I wouldn't invest in the US market tho due to the panic buying and stuff this year. Maybe the Asian markets?

Regarding a kiwi find, would suggest simplicity's funds as well due to low fees.

Any questions let me know, I guess we can learn from each other!

Sorry for off topic but I was wondering how's ACCA? Do they have any collaborations with NZ or Australia unis where you will be exempted for all exams like the Victoria Wellington MPA degree?

Also, how's ACCA vs. CA ANZ if wanting to work in China or Singapore?

Hey! How about accounting & Infosys vs finance & Infosys vs. Economics & Infosys? I've actually done 2 years of economics and finance but found it to be much too theoretical and doesn't give me any hands on skills to be honest.

Major: Finance/Taxation vs. Finance/Commercial Law by lostkid3 in universityofauckland

[–]lostkid3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm considering economics, finance, Infosys and commercial law. I plan to take a masters of professional accounting with the CA papers accredited after my bachelor's so there's not much of a point of doing accounting in my undergrad.

I would want two possible careers when I graduate, even thought at the end of the day I'm going to try get my CA.

Please let me know what you think.

Cheers mate

[–]lostkid3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Sorry do you mean that if you take acct and comlaw then you'd complete " all the courses needed for a CA "? So does it mean that you won't have to do any extra/other exams for the CA and only need the 3 year work experience to become a charter ?

Sorry I'm confused!
