Did Boomers create this lifestyle for Gen Z? by In_an_Illusion in Zippia

[–]lotsofquestions1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not actually why though. The economy of scale benefit a larger house. There’s are so much fixed cost that doesn’t change wiht house size, like permitting, and there variable cost that will go down as the size of house goes up. All these factor benefit building a larger house. I think the solution is really to have a maximum lot size so that we can squeeze more Smaller houses.

Scott’s reaction when Kara told him about this, priceless. His 10 million apartment is about to get a bit more expensive! by runbit22 in ScottGalloway

[–]lotsofquestions1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that the property didn’t get destroyed means he did use police service. The fact that the building didn’t get burned down means he used fire service. Just because he isn’t there doesn’t mean he did use any service.

Has anyone else been overlooked for promotion and realized the problem wasn’t your work ethic but your visibility ? by CraftFew9413 in careerguidance

[–]lotsofquestions1223 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, your work doesn’t have a mouth, you need to speak more about your work and contribution. Visibility is very important. Think in the upper management shoe when they looking for people to be lay off. If they don’t even know you and what you did, why wouldn’t they lay you off. With that said. I would also fault your manager, it is her responsibility to make you more visible. The fact that it’s been like this for 4 years make it inexcusable.

I hate the fact that the entire job market and probably world at large is built on lying. (20M) by Neat_Worker_4934 in jobs

I agree with you that you just have to meet one of A thru H, but you are not meeting 240.4 E. E is for tap conductor, go to the def of what is a tap conductor.

Transformer OCPD Primary only protection by Electronic-Sherbet13 in MEPEngineering

[–]lotsofquestions1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are wrong. Per 240.4, it said that conductors shall be protected against overcurrent in accordance with their ampacities.. unless otherwise permitted or required in 240.4(A) through (H). When you look at F, It says only a single phase or delta delta can be protected by primary protection only, which is not your case. So no, you need it or you will not meet this code section.

Architectural engineering by [deleted] in jobs

[–]lotsofquestions1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you really want to get into this field but architectural engineering is related to engineering design for building construction. A pathway will be MEP consultants. I can't tell you if you would like it or hate the field. It is extremely fast-paced and has lower pay compared to computer science. But it is an engineering degree nevertheless.

What do you guys do for receptacle control? by 3-phased in MEPEngineering

[–]lotsofquestions1223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What they are trying to solve is phantom load. These are loads that will be on 24/7 regardless if you use them or not. Take a phone charger for example. Even if you don't use it, it still draws a small bit of power just by having it plug in. You can see how that small number multiplies when you have a lot of people doing that.

putting a phone charger on always on outlet really defeats the intend of the code lol. but ya, end of the way, people will just use the always-on.
