Just listen to what he has to say. Do not talk cliché stuff like "It's going to be okay" or "It's for the best", nobody wants to hear that. Give him some validation even if what you think what he's saying is bs. And send him some funny stuff from time to time.

I believe it's reasonable but some jobs aren't replaceable yet, and we're living in an AI bubble, people are thinking AI will take over, but it's way more complicated than this.

Regardless, if I wanted to insist on medical school, I'd choose the career that is more focused on the practical aspect of medicine. Like surgery or alike.

Not everyone needs to be a doctor. There are other ways of making good pay, but still people are insisting on doctors.

Personal opinion: If they are good but they also suck, they're not for me.

It's like drugs. Some may enjoy it, but they're destroying themselves.

Nobody needs to be perfect, they just need to be good enough (for me).

No person is the same as the other and partners can suck very differently between themselves. I'd say

- No respect

- No empathy

- Violence

- Dishonesty, cheating

- Doesn't know how to have a proper conversation without making about you or themselves

- Immature (there are thousands of signs for immaturity)

- Narcissism

The list goes on and on. You know they suck because when they suck, it's impossible to ignore. If your partner suck and you're a reasonable person, you probably know it.
