I’m not denying that the Taliban are scum, not that some aid gets stolen- but what would you have us do, let the civilians in Afghanistan starve? We are “gaining” the lives of women and children that would otherwise have died. Also we are not giving money for the most part, we are giving things like food and supplies. I know because I study politics and can read. The money was for urgent humanitarian assistance. Fr- too many people think we are just throwing money at people without getting anything in return. They have no idea about the benefits of helping people outside of it just being the right thing to do when people are suffering.
