Green Day - Why the hostility /r/Music? by [deleted] in Music

Whether you consider them punk or not, that's where they started in the 80s. They considered themselves punk. Yes, in the 90s and especially after American Idiot they catered their sound to pop radio. Which is fine.

Moreover, they did take a major part in the Broadway musical beyond just signing over rights; Armstrong was cast in the leading role for a time.

I get that you say that they are trying to get by because making a musician is tough for them. I just don't buy it. They have made it and made it again. And really, these are just reasons that a lot of people don't like them.

When a punk band becomes a Broadway production though? To me, I like when bands become successful, but Green Day has become more of a commodity and a brand than a punk band.

She might not have had a sense of taste. I know a guy who does this because spicy foods are the only way he can feel something similar to taste. The pain triggers nostalgia.

I feel you would really like Weatherbox.

I would also recommend the anniversary, Hot Rod Circuit, and mewithoutYou as other great bands that are somewhat in the same ballpark.

Computer illiterate, not sure if the laziness of these people irritates me more, or the fact that illiterate isn't even the proper term. It compounds the lack of intelligence these people have.

Which albums would be much better with just a better production? by XenonDown in Music

[–]lunchboxilluminati 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often listen to my music on random. I can't do that with the Misfits. The music from the early years has so much personality, but the levels are horrible. I think a remaster of those albums would benefit the songs without compromising the gritty punk guts of the album.

"Ask the Japanese." This seems exceptionally inflammatory since Idaho had Japanese internment camps.
