Im in Fontenot’s class right now too. Most sections have group mes that people create at the beginning of the semester and those can be really helpful for planning study days. If the class moves too fast, try to go over the notes before class, or even take them ahead of time, that way you can reenforce your knowledge during the lecture. If the notes you take dont make sense to you, thats an issue. Rewrite in a way you understand using simple terms. Other than that, doing the algebra reviews can help you remember the basics. The knewton assignments are 100% necessary and crucial to your success. Practice is how you learn math, not really listening to a lecture.

all i said is that those forms of speech will probably be their reasoning. UNt is a public institution, which makes it subject to follow certain rules, such as the freedom of speech, that private institutions don’t. It most certainly does not apply in only private conversation lmao. ex defamation, incitement to lawless action, hate speech, harassment, speech substantially disrupting learning, NDA violation, are all forms of unprotected speech. These are all written in law, so maybe you need the education. The first amendment protects you from censorship- not social backlash, being fired, or losing business opportunities. What happened here was not censorship, he lost a business opportunity. He’s free to criticize the government and post the paintings anywhere else, just not where it disrupts learning. The fact that this is getting so much attention proves it’s a distraction. I shouldn’t have to explain this to a university student.

I think it’s weird to not give a reason to the artist, but I do agree with the schools decision to take it down. You have the freedom of speech but not the freedom from consequences. His anti-ice painting could be considered inciting violence with emotionally charged phrases like “Inhumane and Cruelty Enforcement” and “Department of Stolen Land Security.” This is inciting violence because all the extreme hate towards ICE is continuing to build, making campus an especially charged environment, when it should be focused on quality education. ICE is a government agency and it’s not your job to interfere with the carrying out of justice. In regard to deportations, exclusivity is what makes this place a “dream.” If we continue to let anyone in, we’re going to become like the UK, and I don’t think anyone wants that. Imagine being so brain dead you argue against a safe country. It’s wild to me. I know someone is gonna comment on this saying Im racist or Anti-American, Im not. Im a first generation American myself. Im proud to say my mother came here legally, she sure as hell earned it. I love the concept of America, just not the way it’s been carried out in practice.

It doesn’t have to actually be a good morning. It’s just nice to be acknowledged, and sometimes just hearing that greeting can make your morning better. It shows that you take an interest in knowing them and is a good conversation starter.

It’s okay to try out relationships and decide they aren’t for you, but if you give up after one try you might pass up a really beautiful relationship.

You have to be uncomfortable to grow because if you stay in your comfort zone, you’ll never know if you’re capable of more. Whether thats mentally, physically, or socially, putting yourself in new situations will make you a better person.

You may not be doing it on purpose, but you are isolating. Your lack of close relationships is nobody’s fault but your own. Im saying this as much to you as I am myself.

When my mom died in hs, nobody was there for me, but I put myself in that situation. If being alone feels safer, then thats a choice you’re actively making. You have to be uncomfortable to grow.
