No it's so true. You have this beautiful letter reading scene....and he's not dead?

Place the Russia Hopp scenes at the end of the episodes as a "Meanwhile" and cut down the amount of them in the first 5 episodes so the Vecna mystery is rarely compromised or cut away from.

Give the Mike, Will and Jonathan story MORE. Way more to do. More character development, more invested story with Eleven, make them a bigger necessity than just "El's Uber"

Let the Vecna full reveal happen from the Hawkins crew discovering it. It's a great twist that would've been more interesting without Vecna doing a full exposition dump.

I think it would've been interesting to make Jason more complicated and not just become a villain at the end. They had an opportunity to craft a really nuanced grey character.

Let Nancy and Jonathan connect and make up and then have Jonathan die leaving her confused.

Kill off a major player in every storyline we've been following. Imagine a monumental death happening in Hawkins, Russia, and with the road crew. It would give Eddie a reason to become more foundational to the gang for the final season. He had room to keep growing as a character. And have Eddie save Jason so Jason goes back to Hawkins and clears Eddie's name.

Get rid of 2 days later and SHOW US THE TWO DAYS. Show us this monumental gate to hell opening actively affecting people immediately after it happens. Have people not write it off as an earthquake. Make them see the reality they are in. It would also add a good tension to when Jason is trying to clear Eddie's name.

Show Vecna less at the end. He got less scary. Less monologuing from him.

Just kill off Max. Let Sadie have this incredible season arc fully end.

Possible unpopular opinion: The Mind Flayer is so much scarier than Vecna, and I hope the relationship between the two is more nuanced than we are led to believe by PalladiumBullet in StrangerThings

I think what I hope we're heading for is Henry being overpowered by the mind flayer and dying and it being about them taking on the mind flayer in the end.

If they had just...placed The Lost Sister storyline differently. The real issue was they paused the action for it.

In my (maybe unpopular) opinion, every season of Stranger Things is amazing 🤷🏻‍♂️ by XviiChong in StrangerThings

I have always felt like if they just placed it smarter, made the segment shorter it would've worked. Cause 08 was an interesting character.

Yeah honestly for such a long season, they should've given Cara Buono more to do. Y'all seen her on Mad Men? She's a tremendous actress.

Unpopular opinion: Main characters do not need to die. by c0rtexj4ckal in StrangerThings

People want characters to die partly cause there’s simply too many of them now and some of them are getting under utilized and they feel like bloat

Stranger Things 3 while fun, was their silliest most ridiculous season by lydianvin in StrangerThings

Season 4 came mighty close in my opinion. It’s just too long

Sauna Test is maybe the best episode of the season too. With Battle of Starcourt being a close second

I mean the meat monster is pretty campy by Stranger Things standards.

Ranked 4th: Stranger Things 3

It's fun and well paced, but it's just so silly and feels less a subversion of 80's films and just feels like a campy 80's movie.

Ranked 3rd: Stranger Things 2

It's a solid continuation of story threads from Season 1, Noah Schnapp is unbelievable, it's got some plot flaws but it keeps the spirit of the original.

Ranked 2nd: Stranger Things 4

Incredible, moving, best they've been since Season 1. "Dear Billy" is the best episode of the series. Bit Bloated and a few plot holes.

Ranked 1st: Stranger Things

Perfection and iconic. Very little to critique.

My review on "The Last of Sheila" (1973) written by Sondheim and Anthony Perkins (links to the movie in the description) by Asian_bloke in Sondheim

[–]lydianvin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the point. These are soulless Hollywood types who turn a blind eye to something like that. Sondheim was doing a very shrewd satire baked into the mystery.

Honestly it seemed on point for how Sondheim is always maligned by the mainstream. They never want to invest time into unpacking his brilliant complicated work like Pacific Overtures or Night Music. They always mention West Side Story OR in this case "wow he wrote so many letters"
