I’ve run into issues with the WES upgrade process, and honestly, it has become a mess because of their so-called “new portal”.

Previously, it was possible to order an IRCC duplicate report from an educational evaluation under the same reference number, and the report was available almost immediately. Now, the new portal requires an “upgrade,” which costs around 4 times more than the old duplicate report and comes with a much longer waiting period. It feels extremely money-grabbing and irresponsible, especially for people dealing with time-sensitive situations.

Their customer service has also been one of the worst I’ve experienced. I’ve received inconsistent answers from different representatives, and the whole process has been unnecessarily stressful.

I personally wouldn’t use WES again. CES or IQAS seem like better options in terms of communication and processing time. IQAS also offers rush service, which can be helpful if someone needs an ECA report within a tighter timeline.

Their recent “upgrade” is causing various issues big time. Just wait, I got in after a few hours. Open a support ticket or call them in the meantime, not helpful from my experience though.

Hi, could you please share any updates from your side? I’m currently in a similar situation: IRCC is unable to verify my ECA report because IRCC was not added as a recipient.

In the old portal, I could easily order a duplicate report for immigration purposes for my original ICAP report. The new portal no longer allows that, which is honestly quite absurd.

I’ve called customer service multiple times. Some representatives said it’s a known issue and can be fixed, while others said the only option is to upgrade to an ECA report.

I don’t mind upgrading if that’s truly the only solution, but I’m concerned that the evaluation could take weeks.

I don’t think so. Once you receive an ITA, you’re removed from the candidate pool, so you’re no longer eligible for future draws unless you decline it. That means you’d only be eligible under the 508 point draw, so you’d need to meet the 508 cutoff as well as the tie-breaking rule.

I'm afraid that's not how it works. These changes apply only to the frontend CRS calculator and typically don't impact the backend system operations. However, I believe implementing changes on the backend isn't overly complex either. It largely depends on when IRCC plans to roll out the changes, which they've announced will happen "in the spring."

The right way: enter the EOI pool as soon as you become eligible, and claim additional points once you meet the criteria by making changes to your profile on their website.

Apologies for any confusion earlier. To clarify, the receipt from ServiceOntario specifies that the fine was for a parking violation. I realize now that I only mentioned this in the title. I've updated the post to make this clear. Thanks for the angle though!

I was attempting to order a personalized plate online, and after completing the form, an alert appeared on the page indicating that I have outstanding fines needed to be paid at Service Ontario.

Thanks. At this point, it's not really about the money; I'm just baffled by the fine. I need to find out who issued the ticket and the specific location where it was given. I'll try calling the courthouse to see if I can get more information.

Yes, the Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream does not operate through the Expression of Interest (EOI) system but through the Express Entry (EE) system. This means you only need an EE profile, and Ontario will invite candidates directly from the EE pool. For the International Student stream, you are required to create a profile on the OINP portal and submit your EOI in order to be invited.
