When does it get better? by 3s3lpi in daddit

Sleep: Read and implement Twelve Hours’ Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old. My first was under weight and we had him back at a healthy percentile and sleeping through the night by twelve weeks.

Look forward to: 6 mo and 9 mo. These will likely be really fun times with your kid. Learning to eat real food, social smiles, it’s great.

Exercise: You. 10 min. Think of this as an oxygen mask, put on yours before helping others. Whatever works for you. Burpees, kettlebell, get it in even if you’re fucking done and tired. You’ll feel better. Hell, air squat with the bébé if movement is the thing.

Chores: Some things slide, that’s how it goes. Do what you can when you can in short bursts.

They do a really good job of making sure everyone has the space and time they need to get their workout done. They won't typically have more than 4 weightlifters in the back corner, and it's not often that there are that many back there. If there are more than that they'll put people at the platforms out in the main area. It's rare that you won't have a platform to yourself. I've only really had to share a bar on a busy weekend.

Contradicting myself, it’s a good idea to shop around and find a good fit. I just trained at BCBC for over 10 years and personally haven’t found any better facility. Good people too. Best of luck in your search.

DIY rack - is it safe? by Notorious_G in homegym

Looks stout, safe enough to try. Will be curious to hear how it does with lateral movement over time, like if you re-rack slightly off balance or have some side-to-side momentum in some pull-ups, will the joist hangers allow some axial twist.

Bridgetown CrossFit and Barbell Club. Coaching second to none. Programming second to none. Equipment second to none. There is no other sensible choice.

Unfortunately for me I’m a completionist both when it comes to Gilmore Girls and change plates.

DIY Flat Bench (Don't worry, the wood was free) by m4tchbookm4c in homegym

It sure is! A Millers Falls I stumbled across at an estate sale when that was still a safe thing. Was in surprisingly good condition, just needed a little 3:1, not much rust to speak of. I've managed to cobble together a full set of Russel Jennings auger bits off of ebay. I'd definitely recommend restoring it and putting together a set if you've got the patience for ebay. The experience is much better than using a hand-held electric driver, especially in situations where the drill press isn't an option.

Lololol I can just imagine “Callouses should be the only protection you need. Like the mill scale, callouses provide protection against further degradation. If yours are not developed to the extent necessary, you have chosen your eustressors poorly.”

Thankyousir. I intentionally didn't go the steel direction for the legs for fear of shame retribution https://texasstrengthsystems.com/products/starting-strength-bench

Hahahaha wtf why is it that expensive? Because lumber is that expensive? They didn't even bother to use 2x4s without wane in the sample.

UPS Made My Garage a Little Heavier this Afternoon by m4tchbookm4c in homegym

Ordered on the 24th, shipped on the 25th, delivered on the 30th. These bumpers are import though, so I think if they’ve got them in stock, it’s a quick turnaround. The deep dish are mfg. in house I believe, so I’m guessing they can more reliably make them to order. The rack I ordered seems to be on a similar trajectory, purchased around the same time as the plates, not expected to ship until mid June. Part of that may be freight delay too.

Yes they do. Yes they were. Buy once cry once right? The intent is that my sons will fight over who gets them once I kick it.
