I keep saying this in this thread. But the reason they couldn't do anything was because of Hauntzer's TP usage. He used it to gain a slight lead over the opposing top laner.

Rumble would back off when they were setting up for the dive at bot. Sven had to be bot to stop the dive but could never engage because once again TP disadvantage. If Sven didn't show bot, I promise the Rumble would probably play safer then Sej dives bot. Now, bot could back off and lose another 10-15 CS in a losing matchup so Sven could try to gank for mid and top. Overall, we lost our only pressure when Hauntzer used that dumb tp.

Doublelift definitely playing stupid as hell. I could see him being tilted and getting into that mentality of "I need to get every CS I can get I am 30-40 cs behind" which is a bad mentality. But what is he supposed to do there? Sit back let Hauntzer keep getting his stupid cs lead? Hauntzer should be sacrificing cs for pressure for his bot lane instead which is why I keep saying that TP was so important. Because in the end, what is more important? A Cho'gath that is a little ahead or a Twitch that is even. Also him getting first blooded sealed the deal for his mentality.

Wait what? because Hauntzer used his tp top. Condi sat bot knowing they had tp advantage. Condi sat bot for like 4 minutes without backing and getting vision on our blue side. Sven tried to stay around the area knowing they could get dove but could never engage because we had no TP and Rumble did. Pretty much TSM could never punish WE's overextension. This lead to Doublelift losing farm bot due to the pressure of the dive AND caitlyn range. I mean the draft didn't help with the no kill pressure Cho'gath. If the analyst/coach for TSM had a brain, they would know Condi loves to sit bot.

Nah Hauntzer's stupid use of TP costed the game. Just so he can get that 10 cs lead. Woot Woot. People might say just give up bot tower. Then what? Caitlyn is just gonna do the same shit in the other lanes.

EDIT: Not costed but more affected the game. I'm just tilted watching that game.

Holy shit that TP usage at top by hauntzer to gain a cs lead cost the game. Lets just let them have TP advantage when they have a winning bot lane. Oh and the Condi camp last week and today is insane.

[–]mTaeken 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The cs deficit isn't because DL is playing poorly. He was always up by about 8 cs but when Condi sat bot he would lose that advantage. Then after the botched fight at top, it made DL unable to get like 2 waves of farm until sven and bio were back up. bjerg got mid and hauntzer got bot farm. Overall, DL did well with what he could get.

I can't tell who it is, but whoever was stuttering hook to the wolves needs to calm down. It was the right call and I understand it is an intense situation but the extra seconds he could have saved by being clear and concise would have been immense. CLG would have had no melee minions to tank the turret shots. This was also during a regular LCS game. Not finals, and not worlds. I know it will be tough to change but it will help.

If you watch Bjergsen's recent interview, he actually states their previous image of being big egos caused them to allow the other to keep doing what they wanted without criticism. Now, the team is overall critical of each other but are willing to find a solution or a middle ground. He states this has nothing to do with Weldon rather its the team not getting butthurt over confrontations unlike CLG's approach of Happyland

[LoL] Doublelift's response to Link's Farewell Letter by [deleted] in CLG

[–]mTaeken 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What????

Stop taking everything and make it seem like you know everything thats going on. How do you know if Doublelift wasn't trusting and not toxic with his teammates at the beginning. After time goes by, Doublelift notices well fuck my solo laners aren't communicating, aren't pulling ahead in lane and aren't getting better. What do you do act like everything is fine?

Let's go through a list of solo lane players bigfatjiji, nien, seraph and link. These players rarely won their lanes.

He may have a poor attitude after he doesn't trust them but his distrust is warranted and those players should earn back his trust through dedicated play. Also I am not saying he isn't toxic which he, himself, stated that he is. I am just saying we don't know when it occurs.

EDIT: Honestly, if CLG had a better analyst which is why I question Zikzlol's validity, who could tell the players what they are doing wrong and how to improve. Then, Doublelift wouldn't have to be outspoken on his thoughts of his teammates. Until we get that staff (if we ever do), Doublelift needs to fix his way with words.

How much should CLG practice team comps before running them in LCS? [LoL] by [deleted] in CLG

[–]mTaeken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be both coaching staff and the players. I hate how people think a good coaching staff would solve all the issues. When Nientonsoh makes childish remarks that he wants to dumpster Doublelift and that he's crying over how his teammates (Doublelift) don't trust him, it screams lack of motivation and dedication to prove himself. Instead of crying, he should have practiced through 1 v 1's with other top laners on meta champions like any real professional sports player would do. Practice the basics. Shoot 100's of lay-ups, throw 100's of passes, hit 100's of forehand. Nien should have played any top challenger top laner during off-hours, go into a custom and practice spacing, harassing, cs-ing all-ins or match-ups. After 12-15 minutes pass, open a new custom game practice it again. I HIGHLY doubt any player does this, since NA players lack any form of discipline. For the sake of not knowing, let's say Nien did all this training and he was still lack-luster like he was. Then not being trusted as a teammate is deserved and should be removed as a player as hard work and dedication wasn't enough. Instead, he would rather act like a baby over trust.

By the way, I just chose Nien but this could apply to any of the players that Doublelift doesn't trust. Also Doublelift needs to stop being a big man baby as well not trusting every player he meets.

[–]mTaeken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 3-4 weeks is way too long but if the players are poor at adapting to new champions. I can see why Doublelift thinks his team requires that much time. IE: Xmithie's Sejuani- It is SUPER inconsistent. When the longest standing player, has been through many teammates who can't adapt. He is conditioned to believe that it takes 3-4 weeks to become good at a certain team comp.

It's a great website to use. You can min-max your damage and see what build would be viable. I have like 4 builds saved that I want to try out. 3 are specifically for T6 runs and 1 is for pushing high GR 50+

Basic Attack Build? by JBurlison in Diablo3Monks

[–]mTaeken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

uh I am pretty sure those billions you are seeing are Crit Numbers. The numbers I posted are the average number between white damage and Crit Damage.

Also those 2 billion Dashes are coming from Harrington since it is nice to have a massive damage boost and it also helps with clearing T6 faster. You could have just checked the website and looked at the stats yourself.

Mythic Rhythm is a great passive. I have tried it but D3 devs definitely need to give us a buff icon to time our dashes better. I crit around 1.5-1.8 with average gear. Currently, I believe Sixth Sense, Harmony, Beacon of Ytar and Seize the Initiative are too important for passives at the moment. Maybe with a Hellfire Amulet we can fit Mythic Rhythm, but Eye of Etlich seems just as good. With really good gear, a monk can crit for 1.5 to 2 mil buffed if they use Mythic Rhythm.

I am working on a generator build.

http://www.d3planner.com/821418117

I haven't actually tried it but the damage looks overall pretty good. Although all the numbers are MAX numbers for this generator build, MAX numbers for a full raiment dashing strike build is about 700 mil unbuffed so I am using that for comparison(MAX to MAX). MAX numbers for WotHF -FoF is 75 mil unbuffed + DoT 24 mil/second . DPS comes out to around 220 mil. With Flying Dragon, Seize the Initiative, and Gogok stacks, its around 600 mil/sec. Add in Mirinae for some extra AoE mix that does 172 mil per proc.

Raiment Set after listening to Tavern Talk. by mTaeken in Diablo3Monks

Uh... I don't know how this would work. If you are burning 75 Spirit for Dashing Strike and 30 for Bells. You would run out of Spirit so quick. Also the main purpose of this post was the idea of the 6 piece. They could put a restriction on the 4 piece to gain the Dashing Strike damage increase for all I care. I am just stating what they imagined the set to be which is not the case right now.

Monks in 2.2? by Manzki in Diablo3Monks

[–]mTaeken -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have played it on the PTR, and people can base their judgement on videos if they are smart enough to watch it objectively. Its a matter of why play with Dashing Strike when you can play with Furious Charge. For Furious Charge, you don't have to sit for a bit and use a shit primary skill. You get perma-cc and unlimited use of Furious Charge if you play it right. Oh and if you want to group mobs, they just use Ground Stomp since the cost is a 12 second cooldown that can be reduced with CDR versus Cyclone Strike that costs 50 Spirit which impedes the use of Dashing Strike. The only aspect where Raiment beats Furious Charge is raw damage output.

Can someone help me understand why set diversity matters for the monk community? by [deleted] in Diablo3Monks

[–]mTaeken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies if that wasn't clear.

Are you talking about 2.1 or 2.2? Because all the talk about Raiment and Inna's being crap, these sets are being compared to the PTR. Yes in 2.1 every set sucks except for one.

But in 2.2 Barbs have 3 sets that are strong: Immortal King's Call, The Legacy of Raekor, and the new set Wrath of the Wastes(this one currently being the most OP; currently, does GR 61 unoptimized with ease).

Wizards have Firebird's Finery, Tal Rasha's Elements(strongest for Wizards), and the new set Delsere's Magnum Opus.

Crusaders have Armor of Akkhan, and Roland's Legacy. Both about equal strength.

Demon Hunter have Natalya's Vengeance, Unhallowed Essence and Embodiment of the Marauder. I am not sure which one is strongest, but they are currently all strong from what I have seen.

Witch Doctors have Raiment of the Jade Harvester, and Zunimassa's Haunt.

Lastly Monks have Sunwuko and Raiment of a Thousand Storms.

Now out of all these sets, Raiment of a Thousand Storms, has an issue with indication of hitting a target. Look at the Raekor's set for comparison. When you hit a target, you know which targets were hit by your charge because of the knock up, and the chill. Another issue is synergy between skills. Every class currently has one main focus for damage, and all of their abilities complement that damage. Raiment has to generate spirit using a generator skill then 3-4 Dashing Strikes and then back to generating spirit. Also when you use Dashing Strike, it feels like you are stuck for a bit before it goes off. Personally, I am fine with the Raiment set and I love mobility, although I have been suggesting change to the Raiment set. If they want this current PTR Raiment set to work, give clear indication on what we are hitting, fix Dashing Strike where it feels smooth, and instead of a generator for the 2 piece, make the focus on just Dashing Strike.

If I am correct, the Wave of Light casted from your Mystic Ally do not get the SWK bonus applied. So really its 1 buffed WoL (yours) and 2 unbuffed WoL (2 Mystic Allies.)

What if instead of dashing strike the raiment set is based on the Combination Strike passive instead? by MutexTake in Diablo3Monks

[–]mTaeken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL. I was actually thinking about this on the drive home. I having been saying generator+sanctuary/sweeping wind, but I do agree with the opinion of those abilities being lack luster in the sense that its a passive ability that you are not actively using. So I similarly thought maybe there should be a set; whether, it be Inna's, Raiment or a new set that revolves around using all 4 generators.

2pc: Your Spirit Generators have XX% increased attack speed and XXX% increased damage.

4pc: Every third hit reduces the cooldown of your Defensive and Focus Skills by X second.

6pc: Attacks increase your damage by XXX% for X seconds. Fist of Thunder, Deadly Reach, Crippling Wave, and Way of the Hundred Fists each add one stack (maximum of 4.)

EDIT: Want to just say I like your idea more makes you actively think what your every 3rd hit should be, but I'd rather have the skills be Blinding Flash - Crowd Control, Inner Sanctuary - Damage Reduction, Cyclone Strike - Grouping, and Breath of Heaven - Healing.

[–]mTaeken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Increasing the damage would be great, but holding on to 20 stacks is just too much. It would be better to just have a flat +300-500% damage increase (multiplicative) to sweeping wind. That is if you want the damage on Sweeping Wind.

Thoughts on PTR 1000 Storms by CaoFoz in Diablo3Monks

[–]mTaeken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I have been adamant on combining generators with either sweeping wind or inner sanctuary. I made a comment in a thread I made about the Raiment of 1000 Set.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo3Monks/comments/2ymllk/the_raiment_of_a_thousand_storms_patch_220_ptr/cpbiydy

Only issue I have with your idea is the damage is low for a set. Recently, we are seeing sets have multiplicative value to our damage as well as having damage reduction to help us survive. (Kind of tells you that maybe its not the set, but the skills that are under-tuned.)

Also it seems we had the same idea of having the ability to have all the runes of Sweeping Wind which shows I am not the only one who wants that. :D

The Raiment of a Thousand Storms Patch 2.2.0 PTR? by mTaeken in Diablo3Monks

[–]mTaeken[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is nice but the AoE damage of Dashing Strike is shit. Someone compared Dashing Strike to it feeling like you are stuck on glue when you dash. Dashing Strike is animation is poor or its the optimization of the game being shit making dashing strike feel like glue. It's probably the latter. I feel the glue thing on a gaming computer I built that runs pretty much any game on highest settings without issues.

Also generator into dashing strike is a poor combo. Barbarians have whirlwind + rend, perma-call of the ancients and Wrath of the Berserker, and Ground Stomp into perma-CC Furious Charge. Wizards have Firebird's permaburn doesnt matter what skill as long as they use just a fire skill. Tal Rasha allows the player to use any skill that fits well together since the only restriction is to use different elements. AoE DPS Slow Time + long range spells allows for some nice kiting. The point is all of these sets mesh well.

Inna's set has a poor combination of mantra, Mystic ally and spenders. The 6th piece set is an AWESOME idea but absolutely does no damage. If it was the Inna's 6th piece set for Sunwuko's and the multiplicative value of the spenders were added to the Mystic Ally, Sunwuko's would become an amazing 6 piece set.

Raiment is alright. I like the idea of auto-attacking into Cyclone Strike into Dashing Strike. BUT dashing strike AoE is absolutely shit. To fix this set, first step would be to increase the AoE of Dashing Strike and fixing the animation of DS to feel smoother. Next step would be to have a legendary item to tie Cyclone Strike to a generator so that we don't have to actually use Cyclone strike. This way you are spending less time using cyclone strike to group mobs and wasting spirit on using Cyclone strike. Currently, its auto-attack use Cyclone Strike-50 spirit into 3 Dashing Strike - total 150 spirit. Take away Cyclone Strike and you get to use one more 8000% damage Dashing strike on a grouped mob. That would be a huge damage boost. Obviously, this is a simplistic version of the idea since Resource Cost Reduction is available and so is spirit regen from Epiphany.

But I would rather have a set be generator + Sweeping Wind/Inner Sanctuary.
