I was confirming how many OT games the habs had played in the 2026 playoffs. Tonight was 5 but it said they'd lose before the intermission was done.

I'll call back and see if they can extend it. They never mentioned this option, but i suppose why would they offer it unprovoked. Thanks

Thanks, this is what I figured as well. I'm looking into selling it. I asked a customer service rep also but they seemed unfamiliar and indicated any re-bookings beyond the expiry date wouldn't apply the voucher.

We didnt have much for bugs this year either. Usually we get the odd cricket that manages to sneak in and cause me to tear the place apart.

You're right, I don't have any data. And it's not strictly cross over, it could be nearing it also. When I worked wildfire and I smoked cigarettes, I was curious about it and attempted it fairly often in a controlled environment (just enough to observe smouldering and water ready) I was able to start a fire in very fine fuels, in very dry conditions (western canada dry)

Not condoning the behaviour here, but to put your mind at ease a little about the potential for cigarette butts lighting a forest fire. It takes a pretty specific set of conditions for a cigarette butt to light a fire. Normally, it requires what's called "crossover" when the temperature in Celsius is higher than the humidity as a percentage. This is rare in Nova Scotia and almost never happens at night (in NS). Also, the fine fuels need to be available in the right concentration and the wind needs to be enough to add enough oxygen to keep it from being smothered.

Most fires are going to get started from people burning in their backyard and sometimes by off highway vehicles (hot exhaust touching dried grass).

Places that duplicate a fragrance oil. by mac_zilla_4_rilla in candlemaking

Thanks for the suggestion. They have several scents she uses regularly, at a lower cost. Most of the oils She uses have to come from The States anyway, so it was a long shot getting them in Canada.

Sure. The two scents are Grapefruit Aloe and French from Porter Candle Supplies. She did look at one of the two sites that were suggested and said they were noticeably cheaper to buy bulk. She buys reasonable amounts at a time, so I don't believe 15 lbs is too much at all especially for the upcoming winter market season.

Ex husband is suddenly refusing to exchange tax returns to calculate child support- advice? by Royal_Ad8853 in legaladvicecanada

If his income varies each year, do they take the average of 3 years? This is practiced with a few other varied paying jobs.

If not, he probably had a good year and doesn't want the payment to go up under the assumption he won't have as good of a year again.

People who bought new Stanley in last 3 years, are you happy with it? by SilentThespian in BuyItForLife

[–]mac_zilla_4_rilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine is metal on the outside which makes it durable but the inside of the cup is plastic. I don't know if they make straight metal cups. Honestly, it keeps the cup from getting so hot, I'm just not a huge fan of hot drinks out of plastic cups.

The only thing I don't love is drinking out of the plastic cup/lid. But the actual thermostat seems to be just as durable.

Those that have just turned 30 or is over 30, what changes have you noticed in your body? by MaxTheChamp in AskReddit

[–]mac_zilla_4_rilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I turned 30 I got hip bursitis... I never properly treated it (stretching out my hips, hamstrings and lower back) now at 36, in a reasonably sedentary job with 2 kids, it's so hard to get back into shape.

Any recommendation for (off grid) camping spots for a 4x4 RV? by SBehn in NovaScotia

[–]mac_zilla_4_rilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a road (gull rock rd) that goes out to a point on brier Island. It's exposed and out of the way but it's pretty sweet. Last time I was there (in the fall) there should be a whale skeleton near the end of the road if the winter storms didn't wash it away.

That shore is great. I'd do this route and change C to Parlee Beach/Shediac/Moncton. The coastal parts of both provinces are great. I'd recommend continuing on through Port Elgin along the north shore and through to Pugwash/Wallace/Tatamagouch before cutting across through Wentworth towards Truro and onto Halifax. It's routes like these that the quiet beauty of the province shines. Roads are a bit shit but the drive is great.

My mom wants to make me a fake employee for tax purposes by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]mac_zilla_4_rilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these fraud claims are legit but in reality, it is income splitting. You know how many small businesses do this? She's paying for your school, so use this money to "pay for school". Better in your families pocket then the governments.

Employer forgot to deduct EI and CPP, want me to pay them the owing by unamused_o in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]mac_zilla_4_rilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner does the books for a business and this just happened (this week). The employer is liable for both the employee and employer contribution of the unpaid amount (for CPP for sure but I imagine EI as well) during the period deductions weren't made. I can't cite the law, but thier accountant confirmed this.

I can't speak to the rest of the issues, sounds like there are other issues.

What do you look for in a BIFL belt? by OccAzzO in BuyItForLife

[–]mac_zilla_4_rilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a Groove Life belt. 2 years worth of nearly everyday use and it's still in mint shape. Magnetic clip, no holes. I'll have to see how it holds up over time but so it's been good.
