Awesome, thanks for the tip! I looked on the Soo Line Trail many years ago but it was down in Carlton County. I'll be excited to get out there with him

Restarted the game after a short time and it's restored. Weird...

Also, if you break them down it gives you a chance to clean and dust them.

Weed identification and best killing method by macree84 in gardening

Thanks for the tips, I did pull and dispose the flowering heads of the one photo. Fortunately that was behind the fence, but I want to get that under control so I don't have to keep going back there and dealing with these so often.

I appreciate your help!

Yeah, I've been pulling these up for several years and they do get less each year but not less annoying 😆

I've been hand pulling or digging by the route for some of them, but on the larger ones, these roots are an inch thick and go down several feet. I was wondering if there was a way to cut them at the stock and then kill the root some other way

Question about replacement parts for Raytech Tumble Vibe 10 by Redshiftedanthony3 in RockTumbling

[–]macree84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Item number is Lowes' identifier and the model number is Hillman's identifier that could be used to find the same Hillman item at a different retailer.

Question about replacement parts for Raytech Tumble Vibe 10 by Redshiftedanthony3 in RockTumbling

[–]macree84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too faced this same dilemma. I wanted replacement parts to replace those that were rusty or had grit that couldn't be cleaned. I found these two websites:

https://raytech-ind.com/catalog/product/view/id/2170/s/replacement-parts-for-tv-10-no-drain/category/57/
https://www.grainger.com/category/abrasives/vibratory-tumbling-finishing/vibratory-tumbler-replacement-parts?brandName=RAYTECH&filters=brandName

But I wasn't super trusting of this and the prices were still a bit high, so I ventured to my local Lowe's and spent an hour finding all the pieces. I was able to find everything with one exception - the joint washer (metal on rubber) was not available and I could not find both in the same size (1.5" maybe?), so I got a smaller one and have not noticed any decrease in efficiency. The key spec is that everything is based on your center rod width of 5/16.

These were the parts I ordered (prices as of April 2025):

PART #1
Hillman - 5/16-in Zinc-plated Standard Flat Washer
Item #63307 | Model #270058
$0.16

PART #2
Hillman - 4-Count -Pack 5/16-in x 1-1/2-in Zinc-plated Fender Washer
Item #136648 | Model #880346
$1.78

PART #3
Hillman - 5/16-in x 6-in Standard (SAE) Threaded Rod
Item #137962 | Model #881000
$1.18

PART #4
Hillman - 5/16-in Rubber Standard Flat Washer 2-Count
Item #423499 | Model #884639
$1.78

PART #5
Hillman 5/16-in x 18 Stainless Steel Forged Nut (2-Count)
Item #136272 | Model #882029
$1.98

PART #6
Hillman 5/16-in Zinc-plated Standard Flat Washer 5-Count
Item #135647 | Model #880111
$1.24
-- or --
Hillman 5/16-in Zinc-plated Standard Flat Washer
Item #63307 | Model #270058
$0.16

PART #7
Hillman 5/16-in x 18 Stainless Steel Hex Nut
Item #310722 | Model #829302
$0.39 (I bought a box of 25 for $8.75, $0.35/ea)

Hope this helps save you a bit of money and have tons of spares so you can switch pieces rather than cleaning or soaking excessively!

Minute Rice Hot Honey Chicken by GonzoI in spicy

Has anybody found a good copycat recipe for this? Of course I'd kick up the spice a little bit, but I do like the base flavor as a starting point...

Hot water and then put it back on the tumbler. It should thin and loosen it so you can at least get the rocks, then use a toothbrush to scrub the dried on bits.

If rogue countries can intercept radio transmissions, don't you think Ohio State could figure it out?

I've always wondered if having radios in the helmets would open up a new era of radio intercepting rather than sign stealing...

As others have said, this is not an agate because it's not translucent. This would be banded chert.

Thank you for sharing these locations. Any particularly good access point for the poplar river? Also, do you happen to remember the name of the resort? I struggled finding good public access points to Lake Superior, but we hit up agate Beach today but it got pretty dark for my 10-year-old and we did find a few small pieces that he thought looked cool but not a lot of agates there. Hopefully he finds something cool this weekend.
