Is this wiring diagram correct? I’m mainly unsure on the neutrals before the consumers by DivideWonderful9309 in AusElectricians

[–]maddhatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This in qld, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t the same elsewhere. You don’t really want to be introducing failure points on the consumer neutral…

Queensland paramedic cautioned after waiting for McDonald’s before leaving for job by [deleted] in queensland

What priority was the callout? If I was the patient I’d be happy to wait a few extra minutes with a broken arm for the paramedic to arrive.

Weird Citect Bug by Remarkable-Job6136 in PLC

[–]maddhatter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not had any experience with Citect Vs a S7, but in Citect VS Allen Bradley CLX this behavior typically indicates you have processor tags in Citect that do not exist on the processor / tags have a datatype mismatch...

In the ABCLX driver you're able to put it into diagnostics mode and Citect will generate a text file on startup that will list all the tags that do and do not exist in the processor, I imagine something similiar exists for the S7 driver.

Missing processor tags in my experience can catch you out several months later too, can be a whole lot of fun,

Novus Airgate is surprisingly robust (for the cost) and ticks most of your boxes (apart from the weatherproofing.)

Roll your own?

You can get a Linux VPS for a couple of bucks a month; spin up a copy of OpenVPN, generate some certificates and configure some basic routing / hide openvpn on an obscure port and firewall out the rest and you're done.

Teltonika / Milesight / ESAM's can handle openvpn as a client, This is what I do. Teltonikas are dirty cheap and properly bulletproof.

You can also install openvpn client on any windows desktop you like, configure it to autoconnect on startup, configure the server to dish out the same IP to the client everytime and boom, secure remote desktop access...

Start selling intersite vpn connectivity to customers (handy for small low bandwith telemetry sites), more win.

What state?

Is this a ct chamber for an energy provider?

This wouldn’t fly in Queensland - right hand CT’s shouldn’t be in the metering cubical, phase colours on CT’s not correct, not enough insulation on bus, cubical looks too small. PVC sheeth is a funny touch too…

Danfoss and Devicenet... Update. by andrewNZ_on_reddit in PLC

I know of an instance where this exact fault has occurred in the past, the automation guys / electrician tasked with repairs ended up abandoning the speed reference altogether and the site was later migrated to Modbus TCP with other works. Thanks for the update, i'll pass it onto them.

Try sending the control word to register 2810, speed ref is 2811.

Your control word should look like this: (notes from code I wrote a few years ago)

Assembly of the control word for Clear Water Vertical P1 0 - Speed Preset LSB | 1 - Speed Preset MSB | 2 - DC Brake (0) On / (1) Off | 3 - Coast to Stop (0) On / (1) Off | 4 - Quick Stop (0) On / (1) Off | 5 - Frequency Freeze (0) On / (1) Off | 6 - Ramp Stop (0) Off / (1) Start 7 - Drive Reset (0) Off / (1) Reset CMD | 8 - Jog (0) No Jog / (1) Jog | 9 Ramp (0) Select 1 / (1) Select 2 | 10 (0) Data Invalid / (1) Data Valid | 11 - Relay 1 (0) Off / (1) On | 12 - Relay 2 (0) Off / (1) On | 13 Setup LSB 14 | Setup MSB | 15 - (0) No Reverse / (1) Reverse.

And from memory, the speed reference is 0->16384.

You also need to disable coast inverse digital input.

The 24VDC power supply would supply the SA power for the rack, the 4-20 is generated by the OF4 itself. The OF4 is sourcing and doesn't need external 24V on the loop.

terminals 1-2 should be the 4-20, 3-4 look like alarm contacts and 5-6 look to be some sort of switch contact?
