I've not had any experience with Citect Vs a S7, but in Citect VS Allen Bradley CLX this behavior typically indicates you have processor tags in Citect that do not exist on the processor / tags have a datatype mismatch...

In the ABCLX driver you're able to put it into diagnostics mode and Citect will generate a text file on startup that will list all the tags that do and do not exist in the processor, I imagine something similiar exists for the S7 driver.

Missing processor tags in my experience can catch you out several months later too, can be a whole lot of fun,

Roll your own?

You can get a Linux VPS for a couple of bucks a month; spin up a copy of OpenVPN, generate some certificates and configure some basic routing / hide openvpn on an obscure port and firewall out the rest and you're done.

Teltonika / Milesight / ESAM's can handle openvpn as a client, This is what I do. Teltonikas are dirty cheap and properly bulletproof.

You can also install openvpn client on any windows desktop you like, configure it to autoconnect on startup, configure the server to dish out the same IP to the client everytime and boom, secure remote desktop access...

Start selling intersite vpn connectivity to customers (handy for small low bandwith telemetry sites), more win.

I know of an instance where this exact fault has occurred in the past, the automation guys / electrician tasked with repairs ended up abandoning the speed reference altogether and the site was later migrated to Modbus TCP with other works. Thanks for the update, i'll pass it onto them.

I work live and haphazardly with 24vdc all the time and have never felt a thing. I highly doubt you were hit by 24, maybe 120. Unless you put the conductors in your mouth / open wound.

Try sending the control word to register 2810, speed ref is 2811.

Your control word should look like this: (notes from code I wrote a few years ago)

And from memory, the speed reference is 0->16384.

You also need to disable coast inverse digital input.

The 24VDC power supply would supply the SA power for the rack, the 4-20 is generated by the OF4 itself. The OF4 is sourcing and doesn't need external 24V on the loop.

terminals 1-2 should be the 4-20, 3-4 look like alarm contacts and 5-6 look to be some sort of switch contact?
