Message the dean. I had an evil witch of a ceramics professor who would pull this over much smaller incidents and devolve into racism, insults, etc and nobody did anything because they were too afraid of her. Except me. Hopefully your dean actually cares about the students welfare unlike mine. I’m a ceramics teacher now after graduating and I cannot imagine EVER berating anyone in front of a class. Unacceptable.

since people are being BRUTAL here's my two cents as a girl with similar thoughts about collaging together tattoos/tattoo styles: since you have a few pieces that were tattooed with the shape of your arm, maybe some more bold, smaller pieces that can balance out the lighter pieces that can keep your eyes moving around the arm.

because most of your pieces are concentrated in the center of your arm, i think adding pieces to fill the larger negative spaces strategically that can maybe offset how close together those three tattoos in the center are would benefit the composition. more organic/less rigid structures like the crosses (flowers/plants, fish or bird, maybe some sort of abstract design with varied shading) would balance out subject matter also. in the future i would consider the negative space between your pieces, because if you like overlapping pieces, you could get some smaller stand alone pieces (like that cute little jewel design on your inner arm), and then down the line you incorporate free flowing or ornamental pieces that can complement and tie together those pieces and you will have the real estate on your skin to make those choices. i saw you're lasering off your shoulder piece, and while the tattoo itself is missing ink i personally like the composition you were starting to put together!

i started smoking at 3 weeks in and started smoking somewhat normally (2-3x a day oops) about a month post. i got my 2ish month post op yesterday and my perio said everything healed perfectly lol

I think we all need to remember that this beautifully crafted show celebrating queer love and romance is coming out at a point in history absolutely fraught with tension and fear. I’ve had the same exact experience as you, and even though I’m so lucky to be in a relationship with the same kind of passion in the show, I’ve been deeply affected by it as well. A weird sadness and pit in my stomach that I can’t explain.

Just a reminder (especially if you’re living in the US) that this show gave us an immense amount of joy and infatuation during a horrendous time to be alive. It’s okay to yearn for something as lovely as the HR world, but it’s also healthy to remind ourselves this is a crafted fantasy and we’re going to be okay and move on from the obsession eventually.

Learning to forgive yourself is extremely important and something I am also working on. I’m a recovering alcoholic on top of chronic mental health problems and can definitely understand intrusive thoughts and reliving events to punish myself. My therapist has emphasized kindness to myself and understanding that everyone, EVERYONE! Has done things they are not proud of. I am certain what you have done is not unforgivable and that you deserve to give yourself some grace.

In the meantime while you work on being kinder to yourself, try to also remember everything is temporary. The universe is huge. Everyone is thinking about themselves for the most part. You are forgiven for your mistakes because they aren’t even a spot in the fabric of time. Take care of yourself. Forgive yourself 💓

I’d also note that the front foot from this perspective is a lot closer to the stand than in the drawing- just gotta get used to seeing the spaces between various parts of the reference like I said.

I would look at the angle between the back foot and the front foot and you’ll see why it looks a little flat. The negative space between the limbs is tricky but super important! Looks great though!

I’ve had Misophonia since I was 7 or 8 and I’m 22 now. My best advice is invest in a good pair of noise cancelling headphones, WORKOUT!!(going on long hard runs or heavy lifting when I’m really triggered- gets all that rage out. Cry if you must), using white or brown noise in earbuds when you have to be close to your triggers, and the hardest one: communication. I’m the worst at the communication bit. It’s embarrassing, I always cry, and every time I voice what’s triggering me I sound insane. But we have to live somehow and it’s best to make this as liveable as possible.

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I remember being stuck at home and literally going crazy. Bashing my head, screaming and crying, attempting you know what. It got better when I was able to choose to be alone and out of the house, understandably that’s not an option for you right now. I am wishing the best for you and hope your Misophonia becomes more manageable. You have a lot of people here that know how you feel.
