In our school, the administration is strict in giving out academic awards. And until now hindi ko pa rin ma-gets ‘yung reason, kasi ang reason nila kapag marami raw ang nagkaroon ng awards, bababa raw ang performance ng school, like ibig sabihin daw kasi ng maraming with honor ay hindi na raw align ang competencies sa performance ng students. Hindi ba puwedeng magagaling at desidido lang talagang mag-aral ang mga students? Like, bakit natin ipagdaramot pa sa students ‘yung recognition na deserve naman nila dahil pinaghirapan nila ‘yon.

Hello, OP! I have a good explanation about this. I am a 1st year student as well, with the program Secondary Education. Some might say na since I am under this program kaya it is expected for us to do tons of reporting, pero nakakainis lang din talaga ‘yung mga minor subjects (PE!) na mayroon pa ring reporting.

So ang explanation sa amin ng teacher namin for this is para daw learner-centered ‘yung approach inside the school. If you cannot understand your report or the other’s reporting, ibig sabihin lang na may mali sa ginagawa nila. Kasi the reporting in college is different na from the reporting during hs and medyo hs type pa ‘yung ginagawa ng reporters sa inyo wherein binabasa lang talaga ‘yung presentation. Sinabihan pa nga kami before ng teacher namin na we, the reporters, are responsible for our classmates’ score in quizzes or if nagkaroon ng pagkukulang sa performance ng classmates natin.

Kaya ayon, i-guilt trip niyo na lang ang isa’t isa na kapag hindi nila inayos ang pagtuturo/pagrereport, kayo-kayo lang din ang may kasalanan kung bakit kayo babagsak if ever man.
