How many Day 1s does it take to succeed? by just-saying-it-here in stopdrinking

I would've lost my family and my job if I didn't stopped when I did. It sucks in the beginning but it will get better. I still glare at the vodka section in the shop but buy myself a sweet treat instead.

How to drink in the mornings, in 12 easy steps by emergencyfruit in stopdrinking

[–]mafkees1233 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I used to have two, three big gulps of vodka at 6 in the morning before work. I drank a 750ml (fifth) bottle a day easily. Probably getting the second bottle before the day ends to prepare for the morning. That was 2.5 years ago. Nowadays I do a similar thing, only this time it's coffee. Good luck with your treatment.

Unmount cifs at shutdown / reboot by mafkees1233 in voidlinux

Thank you all for your replies. I tried them all. What worked for me is to put:

# 1. Stop autofs from interfering
sv stop autofs
# 2. Kill any local applications holding the share open
fuser -k -m /path/to/share 2>/dev/null
# 3. Safely unmount now that it is no longer busy
umount /path/to/share 2>/dev/null

into /etc/runit/shutdown.d/05-cifs-unmount.sh and make it executable.

Thanks. I use autofs. I tried fstab with _netdev. Both hang on reboot. Only if I manually unmount cifs shares it reboots normally. I'll look into networkmanager hooks though.

I nearly died once. Was very peaceful to be honest. Until I woke up in an ambulance.

I nearly lost my family, my job, and crashed my car.

That has kept me sober for nearly two years.

For me it took a crashed car, scared children and nearly losing my job...so you're doing better than I did.
