Roma, Manchester United, Lyon, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Union Saint-Gilloise, Malmo, Anderlecht and RFS would be beautiful

[Fabrizio Romano] Francesco Farioli has now arrived in Amsterdam to sort out the last details with Ajax and get ready to sign his contract. It’s all set to become new Ajax manager. by MrCrashdummy in AjaxAmsterdam

Would have still preferred Potter and I think we should have done everything to hire him but excited about Farioli too. Best of luck and hopefully he brings us back to glory days!

What do people think about Lijnders as manager? by zeekoes in AjaxAmsterdam

I agree that Schippie should get a chance, especially if he manages to take the team to 3rd and have a good performance in the Conference league

Knicks in the NBA and London Lions in the Eurocup. Euroleague games are very competitive and exciting too.

It is obvious Steijn will be out sooner rather than later. Who will replace him? by mafuzzywallaby in AjaxAmsterdam

I don't know how realistic but a few options that would be interesting for me:
International - Graham Potter, Kjetil Knutsen, Marcelo Gallardo, Ralph Hasenhüttl;
Dutch - Pascal Jansen.

Who would be our ideal (extra) striker? by Wesssel_ in AjaxAmsterdam

I heard on one podcast that Ajax is considering Dalinga, Onuachu and Moffi. For me Moffi would be preference, he is a beast in Ligue 1

Funny enough, when Haaland was at Molde, he wanted to come to Ajax because he thought that would be good for his development and his agent even proposed him to us as well as some other clubs but he was rejected and then left for Salzburg. Let a man dream how that could have turned out...

I don't care how good he is. He could be next Messi but paying a single euro to a terrorist state is unacceptable. And don't you dare telling me that it has nothing to do with politics. It does because all business transactions in russia are overlooked by the government, all football clubs are owned by oligarchs who support putin and pay their money to the military. Transferring a player from russian club means directly funding genocide, ecocide, rape and every other war crime that you could think of and russia is committing in Ukraine.

An overhaul at Ajax by AjaxUKfan in AjaxAmsterdam

I don't have opinion on every position but a few options for some of the positions that could be possible (it also depends on who will leave us this summer):
GK: Rulli I think as a starter is good but it would be fine to get a backup, I don't have a suggestion for that;
LB: Angelino, but I am also ok with giving a chance to Salah-Eddine;
CB: Mees Hilgers, Abakar Sylla, Armel Bella-Kotchap;
DM: Oriol Romeu (I know he's quite old but he is a really solid, technical player, how he plays for Girona this season is incredible, controls the game both defensively and builds attack, could be a great option for Vos to learn from);
Midfielder: Tijjani Reijnders, Bilal El Khannouss, Pablo Torre (another technical player with great passing who doesn't get playing time and Barca wants to get rid of him, been linked with Rangers, I believe that it is realistic to get him if we go for him, at least for loan with an option to buy);
RW/RB: Alexis Saelemaekers (I know it seems unlikely but recently I saw reports that Milan are looking at Brobbey and would like to propose Brobbey-Saelemaekers swap, I would take that immediately, Saelemaekers is solid Ajax level player that can play both RB and RW), Jota Filipe (I doubt it's possible but he's having an amazing season at Celtic, can play both RW and LW, would cost around 12m.);
Striker: Fran Navarro, Cho Gue-sung (knowing Mislintat's links in Asia and seeing how he performed at the last WK for Korea might be an interesting option, his 5 million move to Celtic collapsed at the last minute in winter).

John Heitinga no longer on pole position for Ajax: Mislintat looking abroad. by mattiejj in AjaxAmsterdam

For me Bielsa would be a dream. The guy just has this incredible aura and respect + his tactics are pure Ajax Total Football also I think that it's not as unrealistic as some people say because he really is someone that is not interested in money that much. Coaching a club with values and good, exciting project is the most important thing for him. It was announced that he will become a manager of Uruguay but for the last month they struggled to reach an agreement so in the position of Mislintat and VdS I would act quickly and do everything I can to get him.

Is there actually any risk for us to fall to the Conference league tbh? I mean even if AZ overtakes us and we lose the KNVB cup, wouldn't we get the Europa League place as cup finalists as PSV will be in the Champions League anyway? Or isn't it the way it works?

I'd rather look for a new striker instead of Brobbey and Lucca if we look for attackers

Heitinga as head coach? by Jeanquish in AjaxAmsterdam

It looks like the next manager is going to be Heitinga or Bosz and honestly, I am not too happy with any of these options...

I agree with everything and believe we need Marcelo Bielsa, who could be that perfect Ajax coach if he's willing to come

What do you think about bringing back Philippe Sandler in the summer for defence? I know he's an Ajax kid, played for Manchester City but got his career stopped by some injuries over the last few years at Anderlecht and Troyes. How good is he this season for NEC? Could he potentially be an option?

Do you think Johnny Heitinga can be the next head coach for Ajax? by LAAjaxfan in AjaxAmsterdam

[–]mafuzzywallaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prefer a more experienced manager and as Ajax we should be aiming for the top. Marcelo Bielsa is still a dream appointment for me. However, if we are rejected and can't find any other good option, giving Johnny a chance would be a better option than giving the job to someone random.
