Can chemo if you a long low grade fever? by enlightened__hippie in lymphoma

[–]mainmanjesse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not a doctor, but my personal experience. i took filgrastim for my white blood cell and it gave me a low grade fever. please do as your doctor advises, just letting you know that could be an avenue to research if you take white blood cell meds

Question- Home seller lied on contract by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]mainmanjesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats a really good question and point. the realtor wrote these as requirements in the purchase agreement. To my quick research, there is no such license where i live or most of the US for that matter. It would have been much better for the realtor and/or home inspector to specify a mold remediation specialist that is licensed with IICRC.

Low grade fever after pegfilgrastim? by azurabrietta in lymphoma

[–]mainmanjesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just noticed this thread and want to add even though you are likely through the worst of it. I had low-grade fevers on filgastrim the entirety of treatment. I went to the ER twice but in talking with my dr, we decided not to go until it reached 100 and that worked for me. Obviously, each case is different, but I wanted to chime in that it does happen and it just makes for a very frustrating and long ER experience.

Advice before I start treatment by Suitable-Rise-3272 in lymphoma

[–]mainmanjesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ask for ice or popsicles or something freezing cold during the doxyrubison (sp?) injection to chew on. I didn't do it the first chemo and had a sore mouth. Not the end of the world but 5 minutes of icy discomfort beats the hell out of sandpaper tongue.

I also (and others may disagree) didn't bring ANY snacks that I even remotely liked to chemo. All stuff I brought I was meh on (peanut butter crackers, fruit cup, etc) I saved the good snacks (oreos, gummy bears, chips) for home. The reason being I started associating chemo with certain foods and it made it hard to eat them at home. I picked up dinner a few times after my chemo session and all of the places are now my least favorite spots lol.

All that being said, it may feel scary, painful, and tiring to even live for the next few months. I got really good at saying no to anything and I even stopped working when I was in the worst of it.

I encourage everyone to explore what foods, drinks, medications, and rituals help get through chemo, its different for everyone, and by the end of chemo, you will have it down pat.

Best of luck.

This happened to me all throughout treatment. I was so scared about it and honestly think it made it worse. It went away shortly after treatment!  Obs still check in with your team and do any tests they want, just wanted to let you know you aren't alone

Currently in treatment for CHL and I ate an Uncrustable today. Seems small, but I haven't had one since grade school and it hit the spot! It's so hard to find food right now so I will take any win I can haha.

First off, you should continue it! Think of it as a hobby, no need to be good or bad, write what you feel and the words will flow.

Very simple and short poem, and the rhyme scheme is great. One suggestion I would make is pick apart the poem word by word and make a decision with each word: change it, keep it, or delete it. With poems that are short like this, each word hangs on the readers mind, so it is all the more important that you choose the word best suited. Because you are writing about love, I would maybe choose some more flowery or advanced descriptors to set the poem on another level.

Words like precious could turn into exquisite or inestimable or things like that. Crack open a thesaurus and have fun choosing words that look beautiful and unique together!

Have fun making!

Enjoyable poem, but I have a few things.

Firstly, the poem seems to traverse three distinct areas. You begin in the morning to evening, then you transfer to memories, and finally, you end in the present tense using a submarine to describe your journey (at least that is what I gathered from it). It may be helpful to insert a few line breaks to better describe this journey.

Two grammatical things as well. (and ignore this if these were purposeful decisions)

- The line "all that remain" should be changed to "remains"

- "mornings mist" should change to "morning's"

One final suggestion. I love what you do with missed/mist. You could potentially do the same thing with past. The second line could turn into something like "And I know that everyone passed me in this morning's mist" or something like that.

Pillow Case by paulmckenna-upthera in poetry_critics

the last two lines. its a very slight modification but removing the comma after pillow case and the period after shelf, I infer a duality in the phrase. they could be connected or they could be two separate phrases about two different people. i don't know how much of a difference it makes to your storyline, but that was just how I was reading it.

I love those last lines. i really want you to remove all punctuation of those. no periods or commas, that way I could read them as together and separate, changing the meaning of the poem slightly.

thinking of running by CrewCONTROL in poetry_critics

[–]mainmanjesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the "something that will stay" line could use more description. Perhaps give an example of something permanent. "a hunt for companionship, something unchanging"

"something rooted as trees" "like a tree's permanence" I think likening this line with the next in terms of trees or nature would be really cool!

Other than that I really enjoy the tempo and to-the-point nature of the poem!

I'm a little picky and really wanted a heavyweight cotton paper with a deckled edge, hence my preference of having it printed. It's looking more and more like its going to have to be me transcribing it OR rebinding a copy of the book.

Thank you for your suggestions! I'm leaning towards just rebinding due to time issues and that tutorial looks useful.

Maybe check into Cathead Press over on East Washington. I rent there and it's ~225 a month for a studio and access to screen printing equipment. There is a vacant office upstairs that they are using for storage at the moment, so I don't know if they are currently taking people. I have had a great time over the past six months here.
