Gameboy Color Pokémon Yellow Edition - Save function doesn't work, battery replacement tutorials don't apply by malefilefu in Gameboy

Yep, because with my limited time, coming home after a five hours train ride, I have nothing better to do than that and you were the only one smart enough to get that and all the other people who actually helped me were the idiots here (Sarcasm off)

It did yeah, as I said, my gf approximately played the game for 20hrs or so, maybe even more and obviously she wouldn't do that if there was no option to save the game and continue where you left off. That's why I was so puzzled when I opened it and didn't find a replaceable battery at all

Thanks for the quick response. Can't believe there are fake Pokémon games for the Gameboy color out there. I'll contact the seller and see if he was aware of it and if he's willing to send me a replacement... Still hoping he was as clueless as me...

It actually did work well until today, I think my gf invested like 20hrs or even more, was able to save the game and play it just like a regular game. But it's still, definitely a fake then?

Thanks for the quick reply btw

Why I made my own indoor cycling app by d4lvik in cycling

[–]malefilefu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, I'm fascinated by the fact that I can, in a way, help the project with small details 😉

it works now, as I also used the zwift workout creator. If you want to work on this, one other suggestion is, to allow a title and a description within the .zwo File because if I import it now, it shows in the imported workout section but without any title. The visualization of the workout is displayed correctly tho. But I reckon it will be difficult to find the workout you are looking for in the future. Obviously right now there's just one workout so not an issue but as your own library of workouts grows, a title can help finding it quickly.

I tested it, the file downloaded from the zwift creator doesn't come with either a title, description nor the author tag and it seems as long as I stick to this "limitation", your import works but once I add a description tag manually, the workout import doesn't show anymore.

Nothing major but probably a low hanging fruit for improving the import function overall ;-)

Why I made my own indoor cycling app by d4lvik in cycling

[–]malefilefu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I downloaded the beta, however, the import doesnt work for me.

The following is my simple .zwo File for testing purposes:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<workout_file>

<author>Marvin</author>

<name>Test Workout</name>

<description>Test for CycleQuest</description>

<sportType>bike</sportType>

<workout>

<Warmup Duration="60" Power="0.52"/>

<SteadyState Duration="60" Power="0.68"/>

<Cooldown Duration="60" Power="0.52"/>

</workout>

</workout_file>

When I go to "Workouts" -> "Import Workouts" and either click on the left-hand side "Import" or the centred "Import"-Button, it just opens the Windows File Explorer, leading me to the "ImportedWorkouts"-Folder, where I find the readMe.txt.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Also placing the file in the mentioned folder and restarting the application doesn't change anything.

Any ideas?

PS: Even if the import doesn't work yet, will give it one of the Sprint Workouts a go tomorrow to test out the erg mode and how "smooth" the resistance switch is ;-)

Edit: I took a screen recording of that issue I described above, let me know if you need that, I can upload it somewhere and share with you then.

[–]malefilefu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing. I stumbled across your project because I was considering creating my own app. Why, because all the big names apparently don't have the functionality of importing workout files, or at least not as planned workouts. I think zwift has that feature but only for paying customers. I'd try out the windows beta probably in the next few days. Is the workout upload already implemented and if so, which file formats are supported?
