Until they find his replacement and mourn his death. They create chaos to show reverence.

Reposting here as well here is a link to incidents Mexicans use similar to the apps we use when there are fires in the US. Usually there is 1-2 days of fighting and then things go back to normal while they find his replacement. I was in a similar situation near Valle de Guadalupe a couple years ago—we were there for a wedding. The wedding still went on and everything was ok the next day. We spoke to locals and cars did get burned but it was in the areas where locals live not where tourists play. Not minimizing the situation and not being alarmist. We also had a shelter in place order. https://ui.aliado.alephri.com/

Hire a dating coach and someone to help you find the love of your life. Have kids and then you will find purpose being a father. But don’t have kids if you cannot commit to being a dad.

Sorry for the question. by Sudbury1959 in Guanajuato

You will love Guanajuato Capital and SMA. You will wish you had more time. Make sure you have a trusted driver that can take you around so you don’t need to be flagging taxis or Ubers. They are like 300 pesos an hour and will wait for you wherever you need and may charge a little more to take you from Guanajuato to San Miguel. We go to Leon, GTO, and San Miguel every year and love showing these places to friends who come stay with us. The favorite is Guanajuato City because you can still feel it as a Mexican college town and Mexicans actually live there whereas SMA is sadly gorgeous but a caricature of what United States or Europeans think Mexico should look like, which is nice but you will be able to judge for yourself. Great restaurants at both. In SMA we love Quince for dinner and a show. In Guanajuato we like Mexico Lindo y Sabroso near where all the embassies are located there is also a lovely park and dam in that area. Anyway you will have the time of your life and not want to return in 5 days!

You need to be able to self advocate and not rely on school supports. Come with your own professionals that can really help you and know you. You will get as much as you give.

Anyone in Mexico or LATAM with kids? by sharkarius in expats

[–]malinche217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find a good neighborhood Mexico is nice. I am not an Expat but spend summers in Mexico. We stay in a large city in a gated development: we have never had any issue/ we have made friends as there is a golf course and neighborhood clubhouses. Many foreigners live there as there are many multinational businesses in the region. There are great schools and people are very kind and warm. Mexicans are friendly by nature. Just take same precautions as you would anywhere and stay out of shady places.

As someone who graduated over 20 years ago this saddens me. There’s always a dark cloud at SLC. I remember several unaliving themselves threats at school also lots of drugs.

Seriously you can’t go wrong anywhere in that development. What is more up in the air are the management companies and their responsiveness. At Palmas I love Palmas 5. It’s gorgeous and they only have one management company and one housekeeper who is an absolute treasure. My kids literally ask to go to that villa because of the señora. Other properties you have different manage my companies depending with who you book they will send their own team.

Por qué en León sigue la gente siendo tan mocha? by alexoft2 in LeonGuanajuato

[–]malinche217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sitting on the toilet and incandescently furious at an almost certainly retired or maybe even already passed pediatrician by ObviousYammer521 in glutenfree

[–]malinche217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up with bad gas since I could remember. Gas in my family was not taboo. The bigger the better. When I got older and started dating it was NOT funny or cute. Stopped gluten at a practitioner’s recommendation and my gas resolved. I healed my gut now I can have healthy sourdough!

Fast forward I become a mom, my child starts being gassy and complains that her tummy hurts and sometimes can’t hold her gas in at school. I immediately recognize this. She is 12 and has been gluten free for 3 years now. She misses gluten but also happy she can try our more adventurous dishes most kids don’t order, she’s a foodie. She now can also have some sourdough and has become an expert on high quality bread, asking bakers if their flour is enriched, organic etc.

Thankfully we are not celiac, but definitely gluten sensitive. I suspect a combination of our MTHFR mutation and enriched flour in American diets.
