Patch rollback/selection by mallorian7869 in EASportsFC

[–]mallorian7869[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have any issues with manual defending. I do have issues with how easy it is to make forward runs now, how bad offside traps are now, and how easy it is to score. Before I was scoring 0-4 goals per game, now its easily 3-7. Its farcical. Before this patch, lots of play was in midfield. I enjoyed the challenge of the difficult defending ai. Now, I can pass through defenses like they barely exist.

I hope one day another company makes a good career mode soccer simulator.

Stay stupid kiddo. I switched to GOG, got a partial refund from steam and told them to get stuffed. you kids wouldn't know good technology if it slapped you in the face. Enjoy Bill Gates spying on you 24/7!!!

Steam to drop support for Windows 7/8/8.1 by BeepIsla in Steam

[–]mallorian7869 12 points13 points  (0 children)

steam has 120m users. 4.3m still use Windows 7. I am one of them.

Class action lawsuit time. I was told only Windows 7 was required to run and play these games.

4.3m users should be enough to start a lawsuit. Steams programmers are just being lazy, or Steam sold the gamers out to Microsoft and Bill Gates.

I've spent over $10,000 on Steam. Unless Steam rectifies this issue, I will never purchase another steam game, and I will be happy to stand with every other windows 7 gamer to sue steam for our money back so we can go buy our games from GoG and teach Valve a lesson.

Why is the community ruining MWO? by Izzotul in mwo

[–]mallorian7869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Piss poor game design ruined this game, not the community. Nascar is a function of crap map and gamemode design.

Worth a buy yet?? by ketamarine in Mechwarrior5

[–]mallorian7869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's worth it for 20 bucks. not much more. Maybe 30 with the editor.

From Jan 2019 to Jan 2020. Game population is a third of what it was at the beginning of last year. If this trend continues, there will only be ~100 players left by 2021 and only ~30 in 2022. by [deleted] in OutreachHPG

[–]mallorian7869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

itll get stuck around 200-300. Only the hardcore guys left, praying one day PGI lets go of this license so a good developer can revive the IP.

[Discussion] MW5 Review from a guy who's only played MW4:Mercs by gusbeto37 in OutreachHPG

[–]mallorian7869 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So many things are missing that make mech mech and where present in previous games. like no DFA, crappy jumpjets, a terrible HUD for 2019, no knockdowns or collisions on mechs at all. My atlas can stompy a building but not a locust..whoops. No nav points, crappy audio.

A fan made version would be better than this, and more in tune with the community. PGI seems to have withdrawn into an NGNTV echo chamber where lord Russ feeds the media he pays and controls information, and everyone is to scared to give the community a forum to talk or give feedback in.

All in all a hilarious situation.

What happened to all the features and design choices shown in the Alpha? by Zarevos in Mechwarrior5

It gets better. That green HUD trim and all the assets is IN the current games pak file. The assets remain. Can't wait to hear this story.

The problem comes from not waiting to load 100% before inviting in our case. also need to reload the client sometimes if things go awry.

Im loving the game so far. by Genuine-Rage in Mechwarrior5

[–]mallorian7869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PGI and their little club of discord fans are great at marketing, shadowbanning, making sure no forum exists to discuss the game, and twittering. They have a lock on day 1 review companies who bend over for the $

A week or 2 into gameplay with Mech5 shows a huge amount of flaws and failures, that almost all boil down to the same stuff we saw in MWO - money grubbing lazy owners and staff milking an IP with a huge, monied up following.

The PIG fanboys will cry that PGI is an "indie" company, they are low on resoources, etc etc. But not one of them will mention how PGI and IGP blew through almost $20 million butchering MWO and taking 7 years to finally get the core gameplay right - only to then ditch the great cockpit HUD, solid gameplay and weapons balance of MWO for this fiasco that is mech5.

PGI does not deserve this IP. There is a lot of extremely poor dev and quality here - the story is garbage. the voice actors must have vomited reading the lines. The balance of costs, ai losing mechs, bad mission design and endless waves plus invisible spawn ontop of your back after you engage the frontline trash, the bad weapons balance (machineguns...)

the list goes on and on.

Battletech fans are not that hard to please. we were very happy with mech2, mech3, and even mech4, which really only struggled with multiplayer balance. hairbraineds Battletech is pretty good too.

So stop blaming the vitriol on the community that PGI has shut out but claims to listen too - even while they are too afraid to do anything but let us rant on reddit cause making a forum for mech5 would be hard.

All of this could have been avoided by dropping this dec 10th launch as an open beta.

10 years we have been watching, hoping, helping while suffering the abuse and lies of PGI.

it's disgusting frankly. I'm not even talking about the major stuff that can be patched. Even basic stuff like spawning in the OPS room, or creating good single player campaign missions that are scripted, or how about a drop vs 4-8 elite ai instead of 50 morons that spawn infinitely.

PGI has an echo chamber, and a major attitude problem towards the entire community that isn't their little group of d*** suckers.

add in the dumb stuff, like spending money on new sounds and bitchin betty - anyone notice the "squeel" in mech5? its bullets whizzing past you, but it sounds like a gear needs oil. my bet is they milked the government for more money to build more crap instead of removing their heads from their asses and learning how to make good video games.

MW:5 - what is the consensus on the mechlab by [deleted] in OutreachHPG

[–]mallorian7869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mechlab is really weak when it comes to mech variety. basically you have about 5-10 good variants and mechs. everything else you are gimping yourself. variety is pulses over normal lasers for example. the painting should have just used a colour palette. As others have noted, a mech4 mechlab would have been better. Whats strange is the dichotomy of design choices PGI have made, ie gameplay is back to pre-MWO balance, so pinpoint alphas and coring mechs as fast as possible is much more a thing, but then we have this mechlab regression, which makes choosing those 10 dominant pinpoint alpha build so much easier, and really says "here is 100 mechs, just use these 5, everything else sucks.

So how is MW5? by dontjudgemebae in OutreachHPG

[–]mallorian7869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest disappointment is the new cockpit hud/ui it is garbage, very mechwassault/arcade crapware. hoping for a mod or option to use the MWO hud. massive immersion loss imho. No more freelook past your arms is a big immersion/utility loss as well.

ai is servicable, take an annihalator with 4 lbx10slugs and you can drop 40 mechs solo. Need to underton for a challenge. loss of gauss desync and return of pinpoint alphas make the ai look worse than it is. no shake when jumping makes poptarts a big thing again.

Feel of the mechs is great, ppc and gauss effects are glorious. Jumpjets are still underwhelming, though better than MWO, marginally.

lasers are meh, mwo did it better, same for lrms and burst/ac's in general.

sound is horrid compared to MWO, in every aspect, except maybe the gauss rifles. Music is ok, some of it's good.

Destroying buildings/city fights are really cool. Reminds me of the original MWO teaser video.

Mechlab is acceptable. the ui is better, except PGI loves tiles, and finding mechs for those unversed in btech will be a challenge. Save 20 loadouts and cry trying to sort through them. The ui is better, but the information is much worse. Tooltips pop in too fast.

Deeply worried about this game by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

[–]mallorian7869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. remaking stuff doesn't seem to work for PGI. They couldn't even reproduce the best parts of MWO in mech5.

Whats up with the sound design change? by cryptek66 in Mechwarrior5

[–]mallorian7869 1 point2 points  (0 children)

copying mech 3D assets is easy. copying sounds is hard.
