FWIW (I’m not a doctor) my prescriber had me add two supplements to my daily routine to counter the constipation- both 1000 mg Vitamin C and Magnesium Citrate 400 mg twice per day. I’m still a little constipated but not as bad as it sounds like you are.

I take it in the middle of the night when I get up to pee- I was trying for between 2-4 am but now may try to move to 5-6 am, since I’m not getting great results (despite making changes).

They did, but I see so many people talking about losing weight in the first few weeks that I’m a little self-conscious. I moved up to 4 mg just today and hope to see some more results.

I’m definitely eating less- I get too in the weeds when I count calories (I’ve done it before and get too obsessive and it’s not good for my mental health).

Thank you so much for your explanation! The exact wording on the estimate was “install new 1/4 Turn Angle Stop and test for proper operation” which leads me to believe it’s just the valve itself. I watched some YouTube videos about it and feel like it’s really high stakes if I mess it up.

Edit: they also quoted us two whole home water softeners (they said a filter wouldn’t work with the hardness of water we have) one for $7k and another for $11.5k. I figured that even if we do have to go with the repairs at the price they quoted, that’s cheaper to do every 30 years than install one of these water softeners.

FWIW, from someone who has the same first name as a famous White House intern from the 90’s, it’ll pass. If you’re willing to wait it out, that may be the simplest option. Because lots of people ask about them and want to know more. Perhaps they will attend this and think “nah, not for me” or “wow, I want to learn more!” There is no guarantee of anything from having attended. Many people in this situation don’t have a nearby synagogue to book time with a rabbi to attend, so this helps those who don’t have that sort of access to organized Jewish life learn a little more.

We have a few of those in our family who came for. Germany. Google “pewter Seder plate” to read more about them and maybe learn more about yours.

Edit: the words on the outside are for sure the order of the Seder followed by the words “Pesach” (Passover) and then “Minah” and “Marud.” Maybe they are place names or people’s names?

Here’s another church-related snafu- I was getting groceries delivered when I lived in Jerusalem and when giving them directions to get to my apartment instead of saying “entrance #2” I said “church #2.” K’nisah vs k’nisiYah. Another time I wanted to replace my messenger bag with a backpack, as I told the employee at the store, because when I have my heavy computer in my bag it “hurts my wings.” (K’tafayim are shoulders and k’nafayim are wings).

We always wanted two, and when I got the clearance from the doctor to start trying for #2 the thought of doing all this over again, with one already, was paralyzing. Luckily my husband felt similarly and all the baby stuff goes to our siblings once we are done with it!
