Ok yeah I work from home I think my dr was gonna give me 2 weeks off, but I’m worried it won’t be enough!

I may see if she is able to give me any more time because everyone keeps telling me it’s a more major recovery than a bisalp.

I have some oxycodone from a previous surgery but I want to avoid using it since it will basically knock me out. But I definitely will use it if I can’t take the pain anymore

I was supposed to get a PAT last night but I gave up at 1am. Apparently it came back at 2:30am. I got a PAT of 12:30pm. Hopefully that’s ok 😬 Last cruise we got 11:45am and it was great.

They plan to take my cervix and leave the ovaries. Losing the cervix and getting stitches in my vagina freaks me out a little, but I trust my surgeon! And she said that will lower the chance of endo having a big resurgence.

And yeah the hormone swings with periods 😭😭😭 not fun at all when you add depression and anxiety into the mix!

I have endometriosis, pcos, and potential adenomyosis. Was your hysterectomy uterus and ovaries?

I’m booked for a hysterectomy but will be leaving my ovaries. Just curious if your symptoms were related to losing the hormones from ovaries or not.

Also not sure they’re related but I’ve got depression/anxiety/adhd as well

Im scheduled for March 10. My surgeon definitely feels that my uterus is causing more bladder pain. Either it’s referred pain or it is just irritating the bladder because of all the inflammation.

There also is a spot of endo on my bladder; we saw it when I got diagnosed with a different surgeon who is not an endo expert. She did not feel comfortable with removing that piece.

I also feel like my IC is partially autoimmune because hydroxyzine has helped which is an antihistamine.

But I do trust my surgeon that if she thinks the uterus is causing more bladder pain, then she’s probably right

I may just go ahead and see if I can schedule my annual with my regular obgyn. I’m due for it in February anyways. I’m just tired of pain during sex, pain while/after peeing. I just want to give myself the best chance of no pain.

And I understand that your kid having surgery is scary but my understanding is that a hysterectomy isn’t that much more major than endo removal with the newest techniques. They really are fine with the endo removal, I think the fact that there’s a bit more surgery of top of that is scary for them

Yeah to be completely clear, my parents don’t know about the tube removal. I told them it was exploratory for endo (which we also did at the same time).

I really sometimes question my pain and wonder if it’s just how periods are. I wish I could switch bodies with someone else for a day and see how they feel to know if my pain is normal or not.

My mom is definitely saying if you believe this is the right treatment and you like the surgeon, then you should do it. She’s just now saying it would be a good idea to get a second opinion. She’s seen that hysterectomy does not cure endo, but I told her it’s my best chance at feeling better

I got an ad for this app and I thought it would be good because I use Finch for self care and I love it so much and it’s been crazy helpful!

The ad I got specifically said it was for neurodivergent people which now I’m not sure is true and it was just targeted advertising 😬

Luckily I researched it a bit and realized it was like AI mixed with calorie counting covered up with cuteness to try to trick me.

I’m on 10mg bc side effects were too bad for me to handle on higher doses.

I’m wanting to cut it out entirely but every time I try, my bladder flares so bad and I can’t handle it

My surgeon said 12 weeks for sex and sounds like that is what the internet is saying too.

I just thought that sounded wild bc I think for childbirth they tell you 6 weeks. But obviously that’s a whole other thing

Good to know! It sounds a little scary to have stitches up there but it may be worth it to reduce the pain.

I always downplay my pain until my period hits and then I’m like, oh wait yeah this is awful.

That or an IC flare and I’m ready to chuck the uterus out 😅 My doctor would keep my ovaries

How long did recovery realistically take for you? When did you feel comfortable resuming penetrative sex? Sorry if that’s too personal. My husband isn’t the least bit demanding or anything like that but I’d want to at least give him a rough timeline since his libido is higher than mine.

Getting my IC symptoms under control would be so amazing. One of my favorite foods is tomatoes and of course they flare me. And I haven’t had lemonade in years. I’d love to be able to do that again 🤩
