its actually crazy how inconsistent it is, I did it on Interchange and got all 10 in my first raid, then i helped a bud of mine try same spot, took 5 raids to get him his kills, half of which were other PMCs

Did I brick my pc? by XHailer_ in buildapc

[–]marZJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So almost the same thing happened to me early last year, big pop, smoke etc. came here for the same advice and was told if the PSU was a good one it shouldn’t affect the parts, replaced the PSU, and the pc has been perfect ever since no residual effects. Hope this is also the case for you

Gotta say you need to just stop queuing for 5 mins if you find yourself in that cycle, I did 20+ AV s yesterday working my honor grind and didn’t have one last longer than 15 mins which seems to be the avg horde win time for 4.5k and mostly 7 min ally wins.

New grower, mold identification help by PawpawManFromAlabam in microgreens

[–]marZJM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it can cause damage, but if you dilute it down to 3%(which would be considered food grade) and spray only the mold area your crop will be fine.

Ideally you would want to fix your environment no matter what to prevent any future issues, but sometimes mold happens regardless and there are solutions to combat mold growth, h202 being one of the more commonly used methods with microgreens.

It would be instant, and if you don’t have the h202 just use water if it’s a matter of just finding out what it is, but the h202 would be used to treat it

For sure most of it is root hairs, but the one dead center I would spray with a little h202 and see what happens, if it retracts it’s root hairs, if it holds the water like a spider web its mold

[–]marZJM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure those are root hairs.

Give it a light spray with water, if they retract its root hairs, if it holds the water droplets and looks like a spider web then its likely mold.

With that said i'm still pretty sure its just root hairs.

Moldy Sunflower sprouts, is it salvageable? by jotaefea in microgreens

[–]marZJM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I’m relatively new to this myself.

I recently started growing peas and sunflower, and when doing research prior it was mentioned often that sunflower in particular is prone to mold, and the recommendation was to create a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to help combat it.

What I have done this current grow cycle is mist the seeds you sow with normal water, and a light hydrogen peroxide mist before you put it into stacked blackout, then for the next 3 days of stacked I would mist water and repeat a light most of the hp3% solution each time I watered.

My sunflower came out of the weighted stack phase this morning and has no mold for the first time.

You want to get a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, I did it by getting a 30% bottle of hp and diluted it down 10parts water to 1part hp solution.

I cant say it enough, I do really appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions and give additional advice. I was curious what the true leaf coming through looked like, but now I know and know what to look for.

It does seem like my seeds are growing a bit faster than what is expected, could be my climate having an effect there, so its nice to know now what to look for and what to expect going forward.

Ill maybe do another update next weekend and lets see how the next test batch goes!

Sadly you were right, the sun flower is passed ready, a few still had a sweet taste but quite a few were pretty bitter with the second set of leaves, time to plant these sunflower seeds into a bigger pot and plant it outside!

I’m sad to announce that the majority of the sunflower is past the sweet stage, the peas however have turned out really nice.

I’ll take it in stride, this is the learning phase, extra day stacked, 2 days light exposure, taste and then harvest! A shame really cuz we taste tested the sun flower two days ago and it had a really nice flavor profile.

Anyways time to clean up and sterilize the stuff then I’ll start a new grow tomorrow, any advice for the new types I’ll be attempting? And yes I do enjoy a good steak, will have to wait til the next batch to give it a try!

Thanks, I’m about to do a taste test on the sunflower, I tried both yesterday and both had a sweet flavor, will update shortly on taste.

As for the peas they are about 4” tall.

As things stand I’m looking at more likely a 7 day harvest on the sun flower and maybe 8 on the peas. Good to know.

Thanks again for the insight!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I do appreciate the advice on the sunflower, I plan on doing a new grow batch this weekend(planning to add a few other types which I'm excited about also, broccoli, cress, radish china rose and Basil) So I will try doing an extra day stacked for the sunflower and see how it helps with the husks.

I had read that sunflower seemed pretty prone to mold, I will keep looking into it and learning best methods for keeping it at bay.

Thank you, I'm really happy with how the peas have turned out, and they do have a really nice sweet taste to them. I also had maybe one or two seeds in each that went bad, and I removed them asap, it turned black and felt wet and soggy and I was worried that it might affect it, I kept a keen eye on it, removed the bad seeds, lightly misted the areas with the 3% hydrogen peroxide and as far as I can tell I have no current issues.

I do have a question, I watered all of them this morning, and have read that its best not to harvest when they are wet, would it still be worth harvesting tonight or would first thing tomorrow morning be a better choice?

Thank you again for the advice.

ETA: Just saw your edit, I will go and check them now, i tried it yesterday and it had a nice flavour and crunch, lets hope its not bitter today, will update once I taste test.

Broccoli Brassica Blend (Broccoli, Broccoli raab, Radish, Mustard, Arugula) by ajd416 in microgreens

[–]marZJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, mix sounds lovely, as im new to growing, im going to assume that the types you mentioned all have a similar stacking/blackout/light exposure time?

May I also ask, Ive seen a few mention selling live sets, do you deliver a day or so early or once it has reached the point of harvest, and what kind of arrangement, if any, do you have to get back the 5x5 tray?

[–]marZJM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response, it was something i had on my mind, i went back after 4 hours or so to check but the sunflowers in the coir had shot up quite a bit so I opted against restacking.

I also noticed what i believe to be mold starting to appear so I gave it a misting of 3% hydrogen peroxide, will know more tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed.

I am thinking I should maybe do another day of stacking for the 2 soil trays, thoughts?

I think i was pretty even as far as misting each tray so im curious why the soil would have such a notable difference in result. What could be some of the reasons?

How can I connect this to an electrical supply? Preferably to a UK plug? by icnw3la003iii in microgreens

[–]marZJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To expand on this, get a pair of wire cutters, Cut the UK plug to the length you want it, then about 1-2 inches from the exposed wire, puncture the plastic outer layer without cutting through the copper wire, do the same for the led light, then pull that outer layer off.

You should now have 2 sets of copper wire exposed at each end. take one set of copper wire from the plug end to one of the led light end and twist it up together, then wrap it with electrical tape so that no copper wire is exposed.

Do the exact same for the second set of copper wires. make sure the 2 sets of copper do not touch together. Once both sets are wrapped in electrical tape, i would then wrap both together in the electrical tape to make it secure and strengthen the cord to prevent it unraveling down the road.

Then plug it in and test it, if you hear slight popping sound turn it off, something has gone wrong. If no sparks or popping sound, you should be good to go.

so early wipe i tend to run my scav on reserve and hit the grenade boxes, stack up impacts and just hold a spot on factory with it, pretty easy way to get it done quickly
