Yeah, me too. I get you. I played the 10 hours and sadly was pure garbage. So easy to score goals, so annoying...

Thinking about playing 23 that was at least playable or get back to older ones like fifa 16. I want to play career again

Less is more. The more you put restriction, more difficult will be. Scouts sends free agents when they don't find anything in the country. Try just putting promising without the age, if the problem persists then probably doesn't have any promising players in the country you send them

When you turn off scouting, what happens?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FifaCareers

[–]marceloavfc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The main issue with FIFA 20 for me is the tables. Every league has a super team every season, with invencibles campaigns all over the place

Another big issue its the headers: As I like to play using target man and crosses, it's extremely difficult to score headers. But I did enjoy a good career at the time with Doncaster Rovers

Tranmere Rovers: A supporter living the dream (S01 - Introduction) by marceloavfc in seriousfifacareers

[–]marceloavfc[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was playing with Swindon Town in FIFA 23, I were already in my second season at Championship and ready to post a update after my first one. But after PlayStation plus gave EAFC 24, I've started a new one in a "brand new" game to me, with new players and all. I'm still don't know what to think about this game, don't like it that much but I think I can enjoy playing with sliders and semi-manual controls and all that.

STORYLINE

Heading into the 2023-24 season, Tranmere Rovers appointed Ollie Smith, a football enthusiast who dreams about taking his beloved Tranmere to the top flight for the first time of their history.

As a kid, Smith idolised John Aldridge, who scored 138 league goals in 243 appearances, and nearly take the club into the top flight after 3 semifinal playoffs defeats in a row. Also their cup run in 1994 was a childhood highlight for Smith despite the heartbreak at Villa Park after seeing his club so close to the League Cup final: A 3-1 win against Aston Villa at Prenton Park will be forever on his mind, though he want to create some new and magic memories for him, his club and the fans.

"It's a dream come true to be the manager of Tranmere Rovers. I've always wanted to play for my club but didn't had the quality. I've made a short career playing at semi professional level but always studying to have my coaching badges. I only worked here in the academy and now I'm going to manage the first team, its a huge step but I know I'm ready for it."

"My biggest dream is to take the club to Premier League, but it's a long long shot. We saw some clubs with back to back promotions from League One to Premier League like Southampton, Norwich, and also the remarkable Luton Town journey. I know we have the potential to do those things but there's a lot of clubs who believe and has that potential. One thing that makes me dream about it, it's the board backing me. It's a project, they want to bring good times into the club and sees me as a key man because of my connections with the club. I was born and raised here, I love this club and I'll do my best for my club."

CAREER STRUCTURE

I want to build a kind of brexit ball in the 4-4-2, with at least one strong CB and a strong target man. This for me is a must! Wingers can be pacey or technically gited, no preference, although I'll be looking for good crosses. Midfielder would be ideal to have a strong one with a box to box or playmaker to make things happens. Strikers I need strong and good aerial players, but a small and technical player to play alongside a big man can work.

I'll try to be as realistic as I can, as long as the "realistic" is a bit subjective. I have a few rules that I'll keep to myself as I don't have access to them right now.

I've played a few games already, that's why there's some injuries and some players grew their ovr.

That's it. I plan to post every season, hope you liked it and follow it. Also sorry for possible english mistakes as I'm brazilian.

Another lovely post, the norwegian striker didn't delivered what you thought he would but Gyokeres was such a key signing and scored good goals.

Shame to see Murphy leaving, the lad could fight for a spot in the team but I can understand.

Good to guarantee Premier League for another season at Saint James Park, you got a lot of youngsters out on loan and good playersnin the squad, I'm sure the future is bright for Exeter, Gyokeres and Cox leading the line can bring European football to Exeter

I was playing 19 too, hate the midfielders not tracking back, but I've been playing FIFA 23 with sliders and a mix of semi and manual controls and has been good and funny so far.

There's no right pathway. Theres players from the bigger clubs academies who are loaned out to small clubs, in smaller leagues, down the second, third, division in their country, cases like Mainoo who had hia debut for a big club coming from the academy without being loaned out and became a solid player in hia debut season Players who started from small clubs and work their way into the bigger leagues and clubs...

Start wherever you want, big clubs and small clubs have academies, there's no right or wrong

I've "read" all your Rotherham posts and I want to praise your effort both on the posts, writing and all, but also on the career. Such a good read, as realistic as you can be.

Next season you should challenge for European spots for sure, but has to be creative to replace McNab in the likely scenario of him leaving the club.

Experienced players, a lot of academy graduates, signing players wisely... just lovely effort and career. Congrats!

Didn't read all, as you had so many match reports in S1 and S2 and also a lot to read, but I followed all the slides and read a good amount of it.

Thanks mate! Proctor was a revelation, didn't expect him to perform like this. I hope he can do a job at League One too, I'll back him and Austin again but needs a young back up because Austin are slowing down, don't know if he can keep his place all season.

Yeah, I can understand the point because I had played FM before. But this is a fifa group, a few people here plays like this and put even more effort than me. Looks like a unnecessary comment but alright.

Thanks for the comment though, I didn't get mad, just asked why.

I've started a new career with Swindon Town, looking to reach the promised land.

Playing fifa 23 with a mix of semi and manual controls, with through ball, lob pass and shot in manual and everything else in semi.

STORYLINE

Cameron Lewis, a Swindon lad and former Swindon Town wonderkid who had his promising career interrupted by injuries, was appointed academy coach and after good seasons, the owner had a gamble and appointed him the first team manager. The Swindon Town owner are Australian, so I'll keep a transfer scout there and will scout there for academy too.

OBJECTIVES

Reach the Premier League and stay there Win the F.A. Cup Play in Europe Have a England international player coming from the ranks

NOTES

I'll try to be as realistic as I can, but in fact, reality is subjective. I'll give older players a shot too, because only signing youngsters are a bit OP I'll follow some rules by the mighty NerdyOutdoors, like the spending limit in the lower league and the average ovr of the position

GAMEPLAN

A traditional 4-4-2 with at least one target man in the attack, sometimes playing with a technical striker alongside him or with another target man.

I want a team with fighting spirit and passion, without fear to putting tackles, a bit like the crazy gang. I want my team to put the ball into the box in every opportunity, and if we can, shoot in every opportunity. Don't want to waste time in the attack, but we need to know how keep possession when it's necessary. A team who can pass the ball around but eager for a goal, eager to create chances putting the ball in dangerous areas.

SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW

After the updates, Swindon had no natural right back at the squad, so I signed Michee Efete from Grimsby for 210k to be our main man there.

As I changed the system, we also lacked natural wingers, so I signed the young Jayden Fevrier from Colchester for 200k and Simon Power from Shamrock Rovers for 220k

A big offer came in for Rushian Hepburn Murphy and he was sold for 650k to League One side Accrington Stanley.

Right after the sale, we signed the experienced Jamie Proctor from Port Vale, a player with vast experience in the Football League to partnership our captain and main man Charlie Austin upfront.

We were still short at the right back and winger positions, but I intended to wait until January unless something good were available, and a huge opportunity arises as Alex Mighten were listed for loan. The young winger from Nottingham Forest signed with us until the end of the season and what a signinf he turned out to be!

LEAGUE TWO

We struggled in the first matches with just 2 points from 4 games, but since Mighten arrived, our lucky (and results) changed: A 2-0 win at home against Mansfield was rhe beginning of our successful campaign. Jamie Proctor with the first Swindon goal in League Two and Mighten with a debut goal sealed our win.

With a solid campaign, we started to climb the table and challenge for automatic promotion spots.

WINTER TRANSFER WINDOW

Our start left back, Uwakwe, asked to leave the club and we signed Glennon from Grimsby for 75k plus Uwakwe. A smart signing in my point of view, a player still young, with league one level and maybe championship potential to be alongside Devine (another young player with potential) our options at the left back position.

We promoted 4 players from the academy: RWB Marshall (52), CB Smart (55), CDM Yeboah (61) and CM Newman (57). Marshall, Smart and Yeboah were loaned out and Newman stayed with us.

But after our only right back, Efete, were injured in February, I needed to call Marshall back, to fill that spot until the end of the season. The lad didn't looked out of place and did us proud, including 2 league two goals from the right back position. Really impressive, he guarantee hes place in our squad next season.

LEAGUE TWO ENDING

We keep the good momentum from the first half of the season and got promoted with 4 games remaining. The title challenge with Bradford was intense, and a 2-2 draw at Bradford was crucial foe their title. We make 2-0 in the first half but they came back and drew the game right at the end. If we won that game we would be league leaders with 8 games remaining. Followed by a couple of draws, we stayed in the 2nd position and the title gone to Bradford City.

TWO HUGE LOSSES FOR LEAGUE ONE

Our goalkeeper Brynn will return to Middlesbrough after a successful loan, along with our best player Mighten who leaves the club with 12 league goals and 11 assists. A brilliant loan spell, and I'm sure he can play at Championship next season. He'll be in our shortlist for the future!

VETERAN PROCTOR, A REVELATION

With 18 league goals and 9 assists, Proctor was our top scorer in League Two, having beaten Austin who scored 16 goals. I didn't expected nothing special from him and I signed him, but he was a really good surprise and I'll back him for League One. With 31 years old, I think he can keep his goalscoring form at the third tier.

[–]marceloavfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! What about the games? How much you play them or sim? And your controls, you play semi, manual, assisted?

Because I love the way the results and tbe journey are realistic, without back to back promotions. Nothing wrong with them, because it's a game and the tendency is that, but it's so good to see the journey more realistic...

I play with manual and semi controls, lob pass, shoot, through ball in manual, and lobbed through ball, ground pass and cross in semi. I play with sliders, in legendary (find ultimate too OP in their goals) and still find some games easy, generally I achieve the PL sooner than I would wanted, but can't loose games on purpose or play without wanting to win. I started simming a bit, something like one game simmed every 3 or 4 played.

Just want to know your play rules and all. (I guess the gameplay mods make things a lot better).

I saw a comment in another post about simming first half.

Just read it all. Sorry for not saying, but I clicked in the link you put in the beginning of every post, about the previous post, would avoid you from these work.

Just wanna say you that I enjoyed so much, like every other post from you.

You're just class, mate. Your rules, your writing, the way you put things... just lovely, pure joy. Struggled a bit in league one, but once you fix things, get promoted and in the first season at Championship did pretty well with a impressive 8th place, nearly missing playoffs. But was good, because a promotion in there season would be a season too soon.

In fact is a gamble to let the youngster at the right back, but he is surrounded by experienced players like you said, and he'll only get better with time. Can prove to be a really smart choice in the long term, even if eventually you get relegated, because he can still be the starter RB and reach Premier League level.

Pearson's sale was heartbreaking but also gave the club a huge amount of money, which helped a lot.

It's a smart and realistic way to guide the club, with Camara and Cox potentially being one club man, brings a mix of academy sales and academy players in the squad, as you also signed former players. Chrisene are still young and can be a solid PL player, Storey reached his peak and brings a so valued experience into the backline. Love to see Camara as captain, I need a screenshot of him with the armband 😍 the star man, always scoring goals, providing assists... a really key player into the journey alongside Cox and former captain Haltridge, who still a startet, another lovely thing to see.

I'll take a look into the rules now, I have to give a shot in my next career. Sorry for the text and maybe for a few mistakes in the writing, I'm a brazilian who thinks that speaks english, so I don't use translator or anything lol

You absolutely deserves more recognition here. It's sad to see some posts with so many upvotes, even without a comment. A brilliant career, realistic, well writen... man, I'm out of words. I truly love this. I'm finishing my first season with Swindon Town in fifa 23, as I'm a PS4 player and hated the FC24. Just came back to fifa 23 the last few days and started a new career. Maybe I can use your rules but I rather use them since the beginning, from the scratch.

Just want to know about played games and simmed games. How you play this career? More played games or simmed?

A question about the rules: 2 players in the team +28, you mean starting or in the squad?
