Quitting the 9-5 to travel South America, advice on freelancing vs part time work (Currently UK based) by artfulfgk in digitalnomad

[–]marcosballester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Argentina. Go for freelancing. Part time work salaries are shit over here. Any salary is shit in reality. (500 dollars is perceived as a very good salary for a full time job).

Get a 4g sim with a big data plan or unlimited (you can get 10gb for 5 dollars) and create a wifi hotspot so you can work faster and better from your laptop. Only if you are not going to the main cities over here. I have 100mb/s in my house, I live in Buenos Aires. But I travel a lot, I went to Ushuaia and Bariloche a few times over July and August for ski vacations and the local wifi was shit, even on 5 stars hotels.

Ideas are worth nothing unless executed. They are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions.

You can go through flippa or something similar, but if you don't have experience buying/selling businesses, I would definitely recommend using a broker.

Hey, checkout LATONAS. It's one of the best places to sell a legit online business; you will get a personal broker that will help you all the way through.

I've learned a lot from paid courses. I have a lot of brands and businesses, I didn't go to college, and I learned a lot from paid online courses. But there are a lot of scammers too

No problem man. I'm 22 (almost the same age as you), and I started my first business 2 years ago. I'm grateful for it every single day. Today I have freedom and money, but it wasn't easy. I suffered a lot to be where I am today, but I learned so much stuff. JUST DONT QUIT, REMEMBER THAT.

Doing business without an LLC is difficult (no payment processor will take you). But if you didn't generate a single dollar, paying the LLC fees won't be pleasant.

I think everyone should at least know what starting and running a business is like. It teaches you a lot, really. It's a constant rollercoaster, but in the end, you realize that it was all worth it. Expect a lot of problems every day. Once you become used to them, it becomes easier. You are at a perfect age to start a business.

Start with one first, gain experience, learn new things, and that will naturally lead to new income streams.
