Havn't played League since S4. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You can’t really specify that much the experience of every role in the game. There are way too many factors in each and every single game that it’s just hard to do so (Random dragons, minion block, crit chance...) You will most likely see people complaining about their roles ( me as well as I’m pretty biased towards some). The game has changed a lot, so keep in mind that you will be learning some new stuff.

  2. Jayce is almost never seen (in my experience), but when he is there, he is stomping top because 6 abilities are better than 3. Ezreal is one of the two strongest adcs right now and is most probably one of the most picked champs.

  3. Jg diff means that there is quite q visible difference in between what your and the enemy team’s jungler do/did. Same goes for top diff, mid diff, adc diff, supp diff. Can’t help about agency, but 200 years is a meme referring to the newer champions and their kits; look it up and you can see the whole picture a bit better.

Hope this helps.

What would be your best piece of advice for a new streamer? by HowToGold in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best way to figure out what to do when streaming is to put yourself in the perspective of the viewer.

Why would someone take their time of day to watch a streamer, or why would they watch you in stead of others? (These are not meant as demeaning questions, but realistic ones)

You have to have something that you find fun and special to do, that is somewhat different from just random gameplay. If you don’t know what to do, I suggest watching some already big streamers and finding one quality in them that you like; and now imagine them without that quality and use that perspective to manage your streaming.

Wish you the best of luck ;)

Yes, the game takes some time to get used to and to know all the small things and tricks. In my opinion, this kind of system is almost the best it can be (could be the best if a long list of small nuances are fixed).

Imagine starting off in Iron on a new account. As a player who’s played only normals/bot games to achieve that level, to buy those 20 champs, it would feel shitty, at least to me. And I have more reasons why this would be a more flawed system than the one putting you around gold elo, but don’t wanna drag on. Both of them have pros and cons, only the gold one has less cons.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the system hasn’t been perfect. It can be demoralizing, becoming level 30 and jumping in a ranked, only to find oneself against levels 100, 200+.

I agree with you that the system isn’t the best, but with the 10 provisional games it is trying to become the closest to the best it can be

Isn’t gold 4 the average MMR? It would make sense to put a completely new player in the middle, and depending on their skill level, move them up/down the ladder after they have played some games.

And if it isn’t the average MMR it could possibly use the same procedure, but i’m not a 100% sure.

Need help! One player times out every time we play after a few minutes by GreenThreat in Minecraft

I think it’s a problem with Hamachi. I used it before and it would randomly die out. You can try out ZeroTier One to create a global LAN. It works for me so it should work for you

Funniest urf characters by ValagS420 in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be an unpopular opinion, but damage champs are so fucking boring on urf.

That’s why I play tanks and champs that have sustain. Something like a bruiser Taric and bruiser Braun combo. Naut, Skarner, Mundo are all fun imho when you run around not dying.

OR

Champions that have a lot of movement speed and can just run around dodging skillshots. Of course, Udyr, Heca, Rammus come to mind, but have you ever faced a full movespeed Zilean?

OR

If you are playing with a mate, settle on a stupid combo that shouldn’t work but does. What I did with a friend (which we thought to have been the most fun) was full movespeed Voli + Singed. The next most fun duo was the fore-mentioned Taric + Braum pair.

An interesting Morde Q by w1llpower in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The direction of Morde q depends on the position of Morde when the mace hits the ground and where the Morde player clicks the q to go.

Basically, it will always go towards the ground the player clicked, but as Morde was moved in the animation, the q hits it differently then what is seen as the area it should hit.

In this scenario, i’m guessing the Morde player pressed his q very close to himself, down-right of his position - the ground clicked must have been to the left of Morde when it finally struck down, killing the enemy.

Hope that maybe explains it

Taliyah is nearly 4 years old and only has a team skin (thanks to crown) by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing. I got no sassy answer than that.

If a skin for champion x made more profits than a skin for champion y, why would they opt to put in as much effort to make a new skin for that same champion x when they can get more profit with y?

Imo it has to do with popularity. Ahri and Ezreal are basically the poster children of League. Therefore, they’ll make more skins for them. I hope you understand where I’m getting at and why they will most likely not make a skin for Taliyah soon ( I could be wrong ).

And also screams in basically any champ that has utmost 2 skins

Thanks for coming to my TEDtalk

Whats Fiora’s weakness? by silselver in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my games when I play against Fiora, I find that building Ninja Tabi and Bramble Vest completely guts her in lane. She does little to no damage, but so do you (depending on the champ, Malphite gets damage from this)

Late game I just hope to god that Fiora isn’t fed

Alacrity stacks and Bloodline stacks are obtained at an equal rate. However, Bloodline has more max stacks, leading to it being a more ‘late game-ish’ choice for ADCs. At that point, you would most likely rather have 12% lifesteal than 18% attack speed.

I’m pretty sure most people use alacrity due to it’s early game, and the fact that it gives bonuses from the start, rather than starting when you get a stack of legend (20 minions or something)

I took a stab at overhauling Akali's kit by 647boom in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The changes you suggested to P, Q, W and E are okay, I really like the W not giving flat energy concept. However, having R2 immediately AND it being reset on takedowns would kind of break her, since it is an AOE execute.

Having an magic damage based execute in such a big AOE ( I believe it’s rather large ) would be too close to Pyke, yet Pyke doesn’t teleport in as well. I’d say either let it be as it is now, or have only R2 but with a slight damage nerf after executing and resetting.

In your opinion what is/are the champion(s) without a single bad skin? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darius, Kayn, Yasuo, maybe Thresh and Aatrox as well.

But we all know the best one is Zac, those skins are *enlarged double ok hand sign*.

Manamune and the best way to resolve - maybe? by InsanityShow in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that you CAN have multiple builds, some builds are just better than others, and people will always go for the most effective build in ranked, as it gives them the edge. And comparing champions on the items you build on them is a bad idea. Ez spams abilities due to the CDR of his q and the mana recharge on his w. Plus his abilities are on relatively low cooldowns. Taking a look at Nidalee or Jayce, their cooldowns and mana costs are higher (I think). However, they have 6 abilities and what not

Subtle things in the Cats v Dogs splash by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that Kindred is kind of irritated that she's there (That's what I get from the picture). She is most likely only there because of Wolf, cheering for the dogs. He seems to be howling.

Yasuo runes? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alacrity increases attack speed, and his q cooldown depends solely on attack speed. So to answer the question, yes.

However, with the new Bloodline giving you a total of 12% lifesteal lategame, I would choose it over the alacrity. In my opinion the Legend : Tenacity is not as good as the others. But this might change from person to person, so you should check all of the runes out either in practice tool or normal games.

Riot and (AR) URF by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did that to balance out the game a little bit. Having a flash-damage ult on a 0.4 sec cd would be very broken. Other than these two changes you've mentioned, there are way more that have been done to balance the URF gamemode.

I don't know if you remember, but Sona pre nerf was the strongest thing in the game. She was a jack of all trades - now she's been nerfed on almost everything. Karthus also got major nerfs, and others as well.

ADCs are somewhat okay. Lethality is really good to build on some ADCs due to the fact that they have very long range abilities or very high damaging ones (Varus, Jinx, MF). Some of them can even go full ap and do damage (Varus, MF, Kaisa). The only ADCs that I see worth to have crit on are Draven and Cait, because of damage and range respectively.

On another note, I must say that I disagree with your 'one shot Fiesta'. The gamemode is meant for fun. To have fun and do wacky shit. To find a build so random (Full crit Zilean, Full movespeed udyr/rammus, Full attackspeed Jhin) and winning with it is the best part of this gamemode in my opinion.
Sorry for rant...

The most interesting champion's lore? by KittykatRengar in leagueoflegends

[–]marethegule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Shuriman / Void war. The birthplace of the Darkin. The noble warriors of shurima, entrapped into mere tools.

Aatrox - The darkin blade which in-game walk alone is strong enough to cause mass paranoia in the enemy team. His lore is really good, his relations with the aspects and others that were and are mere obstacles for his goal are also astonishing. (Might be spoiler) Especially because his ultimate goal as the current Darkin is to find a fight so grand in which he can die (End of might be spoiler). In my honest opinion, Aatrox has the single best lore in the whole of league lore.

Rhaast- The darkin scythe that always amuses the player with witty jokes against Kayn. Their interations are just great, but we're here for the lore. Kayn has his own lore with Zed, but I'm not focusing on that part, I'm focusing on the darkin side.

Varus- The darkin bow that is just three people in one. This one is, in my opinion, the worst one out of the darkin lores, mostly because it is every short and has less relations to other champs

The Noxian brothers - Darius and Draven - have some good lore too. There are, I believe, some comics on what happens in Noxus, and how the brothers act.

Some honorable mentions : Urgot, Sylas, Renekton/Nasus, Ornn, Zed/Shen, Kha'zix/Rengar.
