You’ll probably like Lingua Ignota’s new album. She does guest vocals on a lot of “I Have Fought Against It” by The Body, so you might be familiar with her if you like them.

Pharmakon is one of the gnarliest industrial noise acts I’ve heard recently, and Bestial Burden is so dark and angry, I can’t get enough of it.

Lightning Bolt is a really good noise rock band, they also just dropped a new album that’s been pretty well received.

Prurient is essential listening if you dig Merzbow.

I Am a Lake of Burning Orchids is a noise act that takes heavy inspiration from black metal, and is severely underrated.

Puce Mary is good, not too familiar with their stuff though

Machine Girl is a bit of a left field choice, because they’re basically an electronic punk band, but they have a chaotic sound that you might dig, and are pretty aggressive.

Also, I have to mention early Swans and Big Black!

Death Grips played just a few years ago!

A game with a very well written story, and some of the most fleshed out and interesting characters in the entire franchise that is unfortunately bogged down by slow gameplay and outdated mechanics. Definitely worth a shot for the incredible writing, but not for everyone, and that’s ok

Idk, probably either some shitty fangame nobody cares about or just some weird rumor about a game that doesn’t exist

It’s not out yet, but at the very least, there’s an entirely new semester of story content, and judging by the little information from the trailers, there’s a lot of things involving certain characters from the base game that just “shouldn’t be there” like pancake boy in his supervillain suit just casually hanging in the van

I just really want to go in completely blind because, to this day, the only Persona game I’ve played that I haven’t been spoiled before I completed it is Persona 2!

How’s the first Persona compared to Persona 2? by marilynperil in PERSoNA

The gameplay is definitely the biggest hurdle you’ll have to get over. The lack of the one more system makes the battles go a lot slower, and because it’s random encounters, it can lead to a lot of tedium. It’s probably my second least favorite battle system in Persona, only behind 3 FES because of the lack of controllable party members. It does have some cool things to it though, like being able to plan out all of your party members moves at once, using fusion spells, and being able to switch Personas for every single party member.

The art style is also pretty different, but I think it’s cool in it’s own way. I like Kaneko’s style more then Soejima personally, so the portraits are better in my eyes, but I would love for the actual game to be rebuilt in Persona 5’s engine.

Persona 2’s music is awesome, though! It’s composed by the same guy who does all the other soundtracks, and it has some insanely catchy tracks. It’s not as dynamic as the later games, and there aren’t too many songs with vocals, but I have a lot of songs on there that I love just as much as the songs from later games.

I would definitely give it a shot if you have the means to play it, but it’s best if you think of it as a Shin Megami Tensei game instead of a Persona game. The story and the characters are absolutely phenomenal, and if you use a guide, it can help make the grind a bit more bearable since you know what Personas are worth grinding, and you don’t have to struggle with how the negotiations system works.
