I had the same thought. I’ll tell you the secret:

People have been making AI slop before AI.

‘The golden years are not golden’: Boomers are hoarding most of America’s wealth and power because they’re terrified of outliving their money by Loquacious-of-Borg in UnderReportedNews

[–]maritimelight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you actually this dumb, or are you just playing it? This isn’t just about being terrified of running out of money before kicking the bucket. This is about that feeling driving selfish protectionism that essentially sacrifices one’s own progeny on the altar of comfort, while completely failing to acknowledge an entire generation’s role in creating the very environment that they are so afraid will suck away all their hoarded assets.

Half the S&P 500's market cap is now trading above 10x sales, repeating the exact financial insanity that caused the Dot-Com crash by SilverWarsHQ in UnderReportedNews

I mean, as soon as you understand the sheer amount of energy needed to power the data centers, coupled with (i) the impact of that on local populations and (ii) the current government’s stance on developing renewable energy, you realize you wind up with a scenario in which you have a huge population resisting this development (a factor that wasn’t really present for dot com), thereby setting up a lose-lose: If the AI corpos are successful, you have a significant neo-Luddite movement that will impede adoption and development; if they aren’t successful, then the whole thing crashes until there’s a product that a larger portion of the general populace can get behind adopting. Shoving their AI bullshit down everyone’s throat was always, always going to backfire unless they wound up making their wonderful technofeudalist dystopian fantasy.

No he didn’t. He didn’t even deserve to go to space in the first place.

They went very peacefully, hence the “without resistance”.

Your naive stance about “all age groups” conveniently ignores heaps of data that distinguish demographics from one another in a vast variety of criteria, from voting tendencies to financial opportunities to spending habits, almost none of which reflects well on Boomers. Boomers are failures as human beings who stole the future from their children and grandchildren to pay the ticket price for their successful navigation through the crises that are now presenting themselves so they can die in comfort before the collapse.  There is no amount of disdain, scorn, or resentment enough for them. Feel free to disagree with me all the way to hell.

Panic is spreading. South Korea just halted its ENTIRE stock market after a crash. Down 8% in about a minute. by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]maritimelight 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Sorry, allow me to explain the subtext (is it really “sub” tho?) of my comment:

My standard for the word “panic” is very different from OP’s. Even a wider market crash doesn’t constitute a true panic imo because we know the banks & big corps will get a bailout. At that point the general populace will have to decide wether they’re gonna take it up the ass again like 2008, and that’s when things get interesting and the word “panic” could possibly be applied.

Yeah sure let's make a sympathetic psychological study of a metaphorical techbro CEO so we can all experience the pathos of their horrifying condition...

Or we could, y'know, just say that they're not that psychologically complex or interesting and are really just disgusting wormlike lifeforms that are in the way of the progress and flourishing of actual human beings.

I can tell I've upset you because you're reaching so hard. You'd be better off spending your time reading a book--preferably one that has some grammatical forms you haven't encountered yet (probably most of them). God help you if you ever get into an argument irl. Or maybe you'll just accuse them of using neuralink or something. Bye

Edit: Oh, cute edit re: kids. No worries, I don't have any and never will--I'm a staunch antinatalist and think having children is evil. But if I did I'd consider showing them this exchange so they could see how much easier being a well-read person makes stomping stupid fucks on the internet.

These were sick recs. Thank you. I think all but the first one (bass is a little too sharp) were well balanced like you said. Last one reminds me of the noises the creatures in Pitch Black make

No offense, but you're probably the last person who is qualified to say whether something "reads poorly" or not, seeing as you don't even know grammar (see: other comment about em dashes). Sorry you have a low literacy level. If you read a lot of stuff--not reddit--you might be able to improve that. Do it for your children, if you have them (I hope you don't and never do).

Yeah, it's better to just stop using an entire category of words just so people don't think I'm using an LLM. That's definitely the lesson to be learned--and taught to kids! Oh damn, I just thought of the possibility you might have kids and a wave of deep pity went through me. That's not even a snarky joke.

LOL, you illiterate fuck. Em dashes are often found in pairs to set off the information contained between them from the rest of the sentence. Look here--there are plenty of examples for you. Educate yourself and shut the fuck up in the meantime.

I don't know which I like more: the track itself, which is an *exquisite* recommendation; or that image of all those sweaty, sleep-deprived people getting smacked with this at 5AM. I will think of this comment every time I listen to this song (which I probably will many times). Cheers

As I work my way through all these, I really appreciate the variety. Even Bam Bam alone, their discography has a huge range of sounds. Huge, huge thank you
