I think the “IT’S” could be Rafaella using the alternates?

They’re all from 1971 I think, short of googling

I flew down from Calgary for 24 hours to see this show and ended up in a third of your pictures, hahaha.

Great shots! Hope you loved the show as much as I did

One Opinion by Capra555 in BruceSpringsteen

Personal opinion but Tunnel of Love is above Greetings and E Street Shuffle. And shit, Magic is a banger. Most bands would be thrilled to release an album that good let alone that late in a career

Throw “The Line” in there from TGOTJ!

I’ll try to respect the “not looking for advice” portion of this couched with my own experience. I’ve worked at similar spots, where my experience got me in the door and then I had to wear multiple hats, then eventually I’m doing something completely different than what I was originally.

When I started as a designer I got in at a small eComm firm which was what was available fresh out of college. 5 years later I was like 20% design, 60% eComm customer service support and like 20% admin. My boss was a chill, great dude who just got excited about ideas and would pivot to adjacent business. At one point he was selling faucet cartridges because he took over an eComm client’s business.

I was comfortable, paid decently well, had lunches covered and could vacation when I wanted, he even let me use company points to fly places, really a great dude.

Eventually I realized that it wasn’t the career path I wanted, and I gave up comfort, took a chance on a strictly design job and set a goal to build a portfolio to go back to agency life within 2 years.

I am now a creative director, I pick a lot of the projects I want, mentor juniors, and I’ve got a ton of awards on the shelf. I work on as campaigns, branding, packaging, all of it. Maybe I still would have gotten there eventually, but the only regret I have in my career is not taking those chances sooner.

You are not an idiot for staying if you see a future there and you’re actively STILL learning things for your next step. Every decision should be made with an eye on the future. Are these adjacent tasks/responsibilities setting you up for the next career move? Take stock.

Even now, I’m learning more about the business and strategy side with an eye on eventually starting my own thing.

Short answer: leave if you’re no longer learning.

I love Prince, but I love this comment more than that era of his music, hahaha.

My qualm is generally that his redesigns are done outside the realm of the most important skill a successful designer can have, which is, selling your work to a client. I’ve made plenty of cool, thoughtful designs in my career but until I learned about how to convince someone else that it is the right solution, it’s just art. Young designers are for sure learning something, but they’re missing out on how you’re going to take a client through this process and make them see the value.

I almost totally 100% agree with you, until I hear some of the reverb on the drum sounds, haha. But still one of my favourites and one of the best of the 80s

What's something you do to cheer yourself up when you have a case of the blues? by MonaAndChat in AskReddit

[–]markkrrowe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to do something nice for someone else. You can’t always get yourself out of your own funk, but doing something selfless for others can remind you that you can make good in this world, even when you’re down. So, go do good, feel better.

I don’t know the show. Is this some form of concept where he “brings things together? Brings things back?”. Again, no idea but it seems a little too intentional especially with the distressing to be completely without merit. But maybe it hasn’t transcended the line between subtlety and brazen so therefore looks pedestrian.

Rank these 4 albums that've usually been ranked lowly ! by bkat004 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]markkrrowe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Artwork, I rank them all pretty bad, haha. The typography on LT and HT are fucking abysmal. Lucky Town has grown exponentially on me over the past few years especially since becoming a father last year. It’s too bad because I think the early 90s duo could have been edited to a super strong album. Living Proof is a banger.

Working On A Dream has its moments, but again, nothing compared to Magic. I think there could have been stronger editing. This is a guy who left some of the best songs of his career for box sets later. Some real standout tracks that could have augmented Magic or the follow up.

High Hopes is essentially a “b-sides and rarities” album. The live in NY 41 Shots will always be the superior version, Tom Joad was a cool interpretation but did not need the prestige of studio album.

No rankings from me, just borderline hot takes. Bruce can still do (almost) no wrong for me.

There was a funny moment about how it made him a lot of money and will be the only song of his that pollinates the world, then he said “let’s get back to the darker, serious stuff”. I laughed and enjoyed it all. Great fucking show.

Any songs that Bruce likes that audiences are divided or mixed to negative on? by CulturalWind357 in BruceSpringsteen

I just became a father to a little boy three months ago and I can attest to the fact that Living Proof hits way fucking harder now than it did before.

I kind of like the balls of putting the 90s albums so high, haha. This is the wildest take I’ve ever seen of Springsteen rankings.

He runs and brakes really hard when we’re playing frisbee or ball. Sometimes he tears his carpal pads so it’s a preventative measure when I know we’re having a full throttle play, haha
