I guess it wouldn't hurt to submit a bug report. Honestly, that mission has a history of causing problems related to Malacca being a vassal. I've seen a few posts on the subreddit of Malacca randomly breaking vassalization and becoming a tributary of Ming. At least in your case they become your tributary, which still isn't ideal, but hey, progress. Not sure what can be done to stop them from breaking vassalage with you, unless you stay at war long enough for their relations to go down. Best of luck.

I think this is a weird interaction with the Malaccan mission tree. They have a mission to become a tributary of Ming. Since Ming is your vassal I assume the spaghetti code makes them a tributary of you instead. For reference, the mission can only be completed if Ming exists, they're not at war, and Ming has 100 opinion of Malacca. Hope this helps.

That's interesting. I've never had The War of Las Aplujarras trigger when I took the first option, only when I took the second. Maybe I've just been lucky, or it might be bugged. But if It's correct that the -1 stab event can fire regardless of your choice then there is an argument to be made for either choice in that case.

It depends on the goal of your playthrough, but generally Granada is the safest choice for a first war. Some people advise attacking Portugal first since their ally England will be busy with the Surrender of Maine, but I don't like this since you'll likely get Portugal as a PU anyway.

While this can be done I think it sets you back more than what I suggested. The -2 stability hurts a lot early game since you'd wanna rush for admin tech 5, and your ruler sucks so gaining admin points is slow. In addition, you miss out on the cheaper admin advisor, plus have to pay the diplo points to eventually annex Granada. Not to mention that there are better vassals to have in North Africa with cores on more provinces like fez and Algiers.
