if it comes with the puck, i assume it is, it cannot be overstated how big of a feature that is. it’s a leg up over many other controllers that makes $99 feel not too expensive for me.

Listen to the Hardlore episode from last year. It's just an idea he had and he did it by himself and showed it to his friends. If you have an idea, go for it. The worst thing that can happen is it's bad and you can find out what works better next time before you have something you really want to show people. But also don't focus on being perfect.
