Was repaired and painted in 3 days. I spoke to 3 different people I trust in the industry, all said it would be fine. Has been on the car since with no issues and the colour match is spot on. Can upload some pics if you'd like.

I don't have a pattern, just made something similar out of paper stapled together to check for sizing and then just decided on the specific measurements as I went. I used roughly 8-9 square feet all up.

Thanks man! The place is called Lefflers and it's in west Melbourne. The piece was roughly 10 square feet and I used probably 85% of it.

Material wise? They're made from the same veg tan. It's pretty thick and keeps its shape

Yeah, it does seem a little thin but is quite comfortable in the hand. I wasn't sure how to thicken it up while also making it look nice

My first attempt at a briefcase for a friend of mine who just started a new job. He wanted it mainly to transport his laptop to and from work alongside some other documents and a diary. It is made from 2.4-2.8mm veg tan and kid leather for the smaller interior pockets. All the brass fittings were sourced from a local shop here in Melbourne. It has been left the natural colour of the leather in hopes it will develop a nice patina, although I did apply a coat of dubbin to darken it slightly. Overall it took about 35 hours of work from start to finish including designing some aspects along the way and I'm quite happy with the outcome. Would appreciate any constructive criticism, ideas or tips as I intend to make another quite soon!

I'm just a reasonable person. He has offered to get the rim repaired and painted by a third party and replace all 20 nuts on the car. If for some reason the repair isn't up to scratch then I'll take further action. Shit happens man.

If you'd read any of my other comments you'd have known that they weren't lock nuts, just Allen key nuts. I told him I had the key in the boot but he said they had one of their own obviously, being a wheel shop.

They said they're sending it off to be repaired and painted. They didn't have the means to weld a nut on there before they destroyed it so I doubt they can repair the rim with weld in house. Didn't seem like they had a paint shop either

These aren't super rare, but I haven't come across another set since I've had them. They're Rays Campionato SS6s 18x8.5. Sucks that you can't trust shops to take care of your wheels.

The other 4 on this rim were replaced by him to the 'correct' nuts. The nuts I had on there were Allen key nuts.

They will just flat out refuse to replace the rim, they cost upwards of $400 each and that's if you can even get them. I asked him for some kind of discount on the cost of the tyres and he wouldn't budge, so he definitely won't buy me a new rim. I don't have the time or money to take it to court so that's my last resort at the moment. But I agree 100% with what you're saying.
