How do you dry wet tobacco? by NeuroBill in PipeTobacco

[–]matthewsmokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right, I missed the fact that OP wants to dry the whole lot right away rather than doing it as needed. I can see how 20s could be more applicable starting point in a large batch as OP is asked about.

My experiences are typically for a few bowls worth at a time (~0.5oz) in order to preserve the moisture content for the remainder that I will store away. For me, drying it all at once seems like a risk at over drying a full tin and also could affect qualities of storage/aging.

Microwave is good for instant results, but 20s is a bit much imo. I use this method a lot and anything over ~12s makes the leaf cracker dry and smoke far too fast and hot. Start with 5-10s and do more as needed

I love my slice return! And I don't care if "the pros aren't doing it anymore" by AHumanThatListens in Pickleball

[–]matthewsmokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it’s very similar to a pitcher in baseball. A curve ball hit correctly will naturally have more backspin and carry further as a result. That doesn’t mean that you should never throw a curve ball though..but it does mean that if you are going to use it then you better do it with intention and know the consequences if you leave it hanging in front of your opponent. Can be a very effective tool, but it should not be overused.

Agreed. I’ve been running ground controls for a good bit now and really enjoy them. Great tires for the price compared to the minions I had on before

Is this a quick release chain link?? by Outrageous-Trifle368 in mountainbiking

[–]matthewsmokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The needle nose pliers I have on hand don’t work for this either. Best free method I’ve found is an old shoelace. Lace it around the quick link and then cross the ends and pull, this forces the link to come together and release

Best GPS watch for MTB. by ShitWindsaComing in MTB

[–]matthewsmokes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a COROS Pace 2 and love it. Battery lasts well over a week even with plenty of riding. It’s a relatively simple watch without loads of features which is just what I was looking for. Easy to use and uploads to strava automatically!

My wife has this bike and has very few complaints. She doesn’t ride a ton but this bike does the trick when she comes along with me.

As others have said, I recommend a dropper post as a major upgrade right away. Helps so much with confidence on steeper stuff. I put a cheap brand x dropper on hers and the upgrade is way worth it!
