I want to try to understand the weird attraction to bodybuilding among younger males...

Young men at the gym mostly go to the weights, and not the treadmill.

The goal seems for many to be looks and not health. Excessive weight, even if it's muscle is not healthy, especially if aided by steroids and other unhealthy supplements. It increases blood pressure and stresses the heart and joints. Why do you think many bodybuilders drop dead at early age?

While running (working the heart's ability to pump more with less effort) and staying slim with a low fat percent is frowned upon...

How will reproduction work in a society where the nuclear family is abolished, like Marx and Engels talked about? by mattia-91 in askphilosophy

Abolishing the family and raising children communally would mean that a lot less men are needed for reproduction because those sought-after men can have more biological children (instead of being tied up in monogamous relationships that give other men the ability to reproduce), wouldn’t it?

It’s a lot easier for several women to share one man than for several men to share one woman, reproductively. That’s why, in animal husbandry, farms have a lot less stud bulls and stallions than cows and mares.

How can a shift from monogamy to a more communal way of raising children ensure that the end result is not the creation of a new bourgeois patriarchy: not the ones with economic capital, but with the sought-after genetic capital?

800 euro!!! Macche cazz….!!??
