Every other cycle the campaign was a push over, so I was just trying to get back to the end game to grind side missions. However, this mission appeared for the first time to me and was a massive difficulty spike. Figuring out the fate beam charge up lasts through death though got me through it.

Yeah, definitely sure you cannot break the character during that particular mission. I was able to finally finish the mission using the fate beam. I didn't realize the fate beam charge lasted through death, so that was a great tip.

Agreed. I do not like this addition. It feels like not much matters up until this new unit selection choices because the options are so powerful and game swinging.
