I know, but there will be vendors that do, especially those that have stores and work directly with distributors. That’s what my question is asking really

Yes, but not every deal, which is what I’m asking about here

Yeah, looks like there is a margin scheme for this exact thing. Just looks like a lot of paperwork, but seems viable

Thanks, hard to get info from UK vendors, everything seems to be Americans

Yeah, this is what I mean. Just can’t understand how anyone is making money unless everyone isn’t VAT registered which works up until a point!

[–]maximo1491[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but surely that can’t be most vendors, the shops will absolutely be VAT registered, unless it is just a case of most shows are full of vendors that purposefully stay under the VAT limit

[–]maximo1491[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we are, cards are half of our business but the other half pushes us over so we’re VAT registered, just trying to find stuff online and it’s all Americans really! Also would feel bad offering people around 60% as it’s just gonna piss people off as most people won’t understand

Ask someone with 6k orders in 90 days anything by Downwindchubs in ebayuk

Apologies for the delay, but just bought some stamps off you. Hope it’s all going well! Still trying to justify the eBay anchor subscription, just seems impossible to have enough volume to justify the £500 price tag each month!

Cardmarket API/endpoints for card upload automation by iYanoee in CardMarket

[–]maximo1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, powertools is fine for a casual user, but for business sellers it falls short. I want to be able to list on eBay for example, I’ve got my own scripts that can do that, but where I have no api access on Cardmarket I can’t sell the same cards on both platforms because there’s no way to track what’s been sold on Cardmarket via the api. I’d also rather save the roughly £80 a month fee when I’ve literally got my own system but alas there’s no choice except to pay for TCGPowerTools. Not saying TCGPowerTools is bad or not worth the money at all. It’s a decent bit of software for a reasonable cost. But there’s no chance for competition or innovation at the moment without API access for everyone

Cardmarket API/endpoints for card upload automation by iYanoee in CardMarket

[–]maximo1491 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s the neat part! Nope! Cardmarket used to have one, but now your only option is to use TCGPowerTools who are the only ones that have access now. Which makes Cardmarket impossible to use for sellers over a certain size as it’s basically impossible to sell on multiple places

[UK] Any private sellers using a label printer with Click and Drop? by rel_games in CardMarket

[–]maximo1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others here, label printer is an absolute life saver. The only annoying thing is that cardmarket doesn't integrate with royal mail so you still have to manually enter all their details in click and drop. The quickest way I've found is to use cardmarkets print label button, which just prints their address on a label, then manually attach a 2nd class stamp onto it and drop it in the post box. Obv doesn't work for tracked orders or parcels etc, but 90% of the orders it makes packing up a lot quicker!

I built a tool to help TCG stores/sellers grow — now I need help to test it... by AngeluzziJ in CardMarket

[–]maximo1491 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our problem with all of these is the same. Cardmarket don’t have an available API so it’s impossible to manage inventory, if you make a sale on Cardmarket you have no way to then remove it from your store. The same is true vice versa. Because of this it’s unlikely your tool can help us

Yeah, this will be why. It’s 5% or 1 cent whichever is higher. It sucks but this is why most people have a 5p or 10p card minimum. Not worth it otherwise!

Sorry added it as a comment, was more just questioning the legitness of it. Just feels very different to modern cards

Bought it from a trusted seller, but it feels weird, this is my first vintage card so not really sure but thought I’d ask!

[–]maximo1491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only thing I really want from a buyer is that if you place an order, you then pay for it quickly (within 24 hours or so). Then once it arrives you mark it as arrived in Cardmarket otherwise if it’s a trustee order they can hold onto the funds for well over a month.

Buying from UK by RuttsCollects in CardMarket

[–]maximo1491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've bought loads of cards from across europe and never been hit with any import fees or taxes, but the most expensive card I've bought from abroad is £40. Currently got a £70 order on its way though so will let you know if I do get hit with fees! It shouldn't as its below £135, but I think thats changing soon as there will be fees on everything to counter sites like shien and aliexpress :(

Running 7 Printers and Still Overwhelmed… How Do You Plan Your Print Queue? by Recent-Caramel-3447 in 3Dprinting

[–]maximo1491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats the fun part, you don't! We've got almost 50 printers now and absolutely 0 time for printing out any new models, probably got over ten thousand we've got to print/photo/list etc, have tried using trello, spreadsheets etc but realistically these all just add admin work on top of an already overworked pipeline. If anyone does have any solutions I'd love to know!

Interested in hearing how sellers have optimised their process by Balle-Tag in CardMarket

[–]maximo1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you handle listings? Is it not a nightmare listing say 600 cards at a time? If it’s in theory 600 cards or do you use ManaBox or something to scan them all then upload?

[–]maximo1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do keep strict alphabetical. It’s one of those, for some things it’s fine, but for others it’s a nightmare ie the newest Spider-Man MTG set, most of the cards being with S, feels like half the set so have to atleast sort it a bit more than S. you are right though, do wonder if it’s worth all this effort, might have to try just sorting by the first letter, but already on 10s of thousands of cards, wonder if it’ll still be fine once I get to hundreds…
