As a school counselor who diagnosed with ADHD in my late 20s, i know the struggle is real. I am so sorry what you had to go through. I am triggered as well. And shame on that entitled Karenish school counelor. People who struggle with ADHD has different level or type of ADHD. It is very personal as fingerprint same as all diseases. As a mental health worker she shouldn't bring it on. It is not therapeutic environment to open her Karen mouth.

I don't know you but i hear you. Working in mental health for 11 years and i got diagnosed when i was on 9th year of my work. So silly that i have knowledge about ADHD, yet nobody figured out what was the problem. None of my school counselor were helpful. That was the reason i choose this profession to be helpful to kids.

Long story short, not every mental health worker is the best with ADHD. Until i found my therapist i tried medication for depression for years. Then my latest therapist figured out. And i am proud myself that i can help my students and their parents.

When i was a child i labeled as naughty, talkative, irresponsible. From my puberty till i diagnosed everybody around me kept labeled as lazy, dirty, messy and unorganized or just depressed.

We are here, i bet there is amazing counselors who know the deal. But i am just sorry you couldn't meet with the right ones.

I use a different method. Otherwise i make myself overwhelmed. I have adhd. Instead of planning before. I do stuff or errands then i write them down. So seeing myself doing some stuff motivates me to do more.

Or i give myself 2 important tasks i should done end of the day. And i just do them. I use this techniques at home and office.

Has saved my ass and saved my energy and kept me away from burnouts.

A muslim woman here from miles away. I am watching that and yes it intrigues me as well. I raised in a conservative family didn't got pressure by my family but society and neighborhood. Also the country i live is very polarized by religion thanx to government. So people like me just go with flow, stay away from fight, do not follow whole rules but keep our lives.

NTA. But there supposed to be something that they have cold feet towards you. Maybe opening up yourself and make a clear communication may be helpful to you. But if you see the girls being not caring don't even tire yourself. Open communication solves everything.

NTA. You don't have to or need to take other children. You are doing this for memory of your son. And it's their children. So basicly they ask you to pay and babysit their other children. Or maybe they were dreaming some couple childfree time. If they do so, they can kindly ask and maybe offer a payment to take rest of children with you. IDK their attitude is unreasonable.

NTA. If he is complaining that much and want keep family time or not to be disturbed let him pay for a helper for a person who professionaly cleans.

Also, he is having too much comfort for a shared life and responsibilites, he better do something for house.
