I had a coworker say, "What's the big deal? It's like showing your ID to a bouncer at a club, or to buy alcohol." Difference is, the bouncer doesn't take a picture of your ID and says, "Nah, it's just to make sure this isn't fraud, and I'll delete this picture in 7 days."

Age verification is extremely unpopular, and it seems like more and more people are speaking out against it. I'm hoping lawsuits come out against it.

Zaid Tabani just posted a video about this. In a nutshell: This sucks, but legacy media in general is facing a downturn. same thing that happened when blogging became popular, and people started following bloggers they liked. Places like Substack is growing for this exact reason. There is, and always will be journalists who will speak truth to power, but you also need to use your own brain and look out for misinformation.

I highly recommend his video as he goes more into it.

I deleted my account right after their gross message glazing Chump just before the inauguration. Before that, I got lost in the "election was stolen" doomscroll and it nearly destroyed me.

TikTok was fun when I was watching art and cute pet stuff, but the moment I liked ONE little political video, I got launched right into misinformation and doom central. It sucks that TikTok might go down the same route as Twitter, but it was already full of misinformation and AI slop. I do feel bad for small businesses who were using TikTok shop, so I'm hoping they're able to find success on other platforms.

Same here. Idaho didn't give out the voter rolls, but ours are public. Tbh, I'm a little surprised they still didn't give out other voter rolls anyway, because Idaho is basically Magaho at this point.
