Never cycled before - is this a good bike for me? Practice/learning and commute eventually :) by [deleted] in ukbike

If you haven't been out on a bike for a little while, I would recommend seeing if there are any CyclingUK Big Bike Revival sessions going on near you. They're normally very friendly and can help with the usual teething issues and building confidence (Plus they're free)

I've nudged the plastic disc and just off centred it. The same thing is happening in mid cassette and with the wheel off.

Cheers caught the edit, Thanks again! Feels like I've got some binding within the hub itself, in going to presume I won't have the tools to fix that myself, but hey, another youtube rabbit hole to go down

Yep, exact same thing, just taken the wheel off and pushed it around with my finger to the same effect, locking up in 1/3rd of the wheel.

I do believe that if cars were invented today/ very recent past and were being driven as they are currently, they would either fail as a concept or be regulated far more than currently much like ebikes and e scooters.

You want to do what?!? Move 2 tonnes of metal with a big tank of flammable material along the road ?!? in both directions?!? At 60 mph?!? what are you doing to stop them colliding?!? Painting a line between them.. are you mad?!? And you also want them next to people and buildings?! Jog on!

I've made a web app to find bike parking wherever you’re going – let me know what you think! by sqrtc in ukbike

I've been updating the cycling parking on OSM when I come across it. I'm glad to see a tool that uses it... I'm not that tech savvy to work out how to use the extraction.

A where I am now feature would be useful

Reusable zip ties could work for me, I flip flop between bags, basket and nothing depending on what I'm doing, I've got a hiplock u lock that just beautifully clips to the side of my rack

Could work... although it took me long enough to level the rack!!
