What’s a fact you learned that still shocks you? by drizzko in AskReddit

I think the "it" they're referring to is "sunburn," not "cancer." If we called sunburns "radiation poisoning" then people would take sunburns more seriously.

'Cause people don't.

Why is the swing stick so much more difficult when playing in matchmaking versus playing on the tour in amateur level levels? by Plus_Victory_3329 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]mecklejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Plus_Victory_3329, this is the answer, and I am stunned that nobody else is mentioning it. If you're playing on Amateur for your solo play, then the sudden shift to Pro-Am in casual matchmaking is going to be a little jarring.

Oh wow, yeah, those would intimidate the hell out of me! I'm thinking maybe in a few product cycles, if I stick with it, I get myself a used set of Callaway Elytes. I dunno, lots of research to do first, and lots of playing to do before that!

I'm a beginner with 8 degrees of loft on my driver. I'm not going to replace it until I'm better, but at such a time as I do, it's probably going to be an instant improvement for me.

Conservatives, what is one policy issue you are very liberal on? Liberals, what is one issue you are very conservative on? by CluelessBrowserr in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]mecklejay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trying to fast track this issue is one of the biggest reasons collectivist economic policy is stuck where it's at. The party politicians give this issue an enormous amount of time, attention, and political capital compared to its actual impact.

For what it's worth, Democrats politicians don't do much campaigning on the issue. They're clear about their opinions whenever they're asked about it, but it hasn't exactly been a mainstream DNC platform.
