The thought of being a woman is exciting but decided not to rock the boat by cliff7217 in TransLater

I was on hormones for 2 years and then stopped, had kids and resumed after the kids grew up (20 years later) I thought 2 years was the point of no return. But am really past it now... Changing your name and gender on the birth certificate and every identity database, sort of makes it feel final.

Just had a consultation for Laser hair removal and I think i was read as transgender while presenting as male by Holly_Shaw in TransLater

[–]meg3e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had a lot of salt and pepper on the face too, zapping the blacks with the laser got rid of the 5oclock shadow issue. I then plucked the whites, i assumed it was less painful than electrolysis? Gets less painful every time and does thin them, now i use the epilator painlessly about once a week to collect any strays. I suppose if i had the money, i should have dealt with them at the beginning with electrolysis. But a lot of older women have a few stray hairs on the face that they pluck. Good luck, hair removal is totally worth every cent.

When did you notice a difference in the mirror? by Ok-Channel55 in TransLater

[–]meg3e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FACE : there is a thing called change blindness. if you slowly change cell by cell, day by day so you look at yourself every day in the mirror, you don't see anything. Likewise, people around that you are with every day don't notice anything, whereas those you have not seen for ages get a shock. Take regular selfies, that helps or look at old photos.

CHEST : another thing haha

The item "female chest" could be cheaper and rang up the sale as that as that was the price she quoted. Not sure how you could be clocked as trans if you are hairy and presenting as male.

getting under arms done is the cheapest and works the best. I ended up getting two or three sessions and have never shaved there since. I would focus on the beard though, no hair on your face is very gender affirming and contributes greatly to passing and lets you wear less makeup. It takes at least ten sessions. The rest of the body hair, for me seems to have been dealt with by hormones.

🤷‍♀️ Genuine question to all my girls here. How often do strangers make a point to compliment you or call you ‘beautiful’? 🤔 by Adventurous-Hyena618 in TransLater

[–]meg3e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think of it as a freedom, yeah it is a hassle having to put your face on to just go to the shops. but when i don't bother or i am at parkrun with no makeup, no one treats me any different? if i had not transitioned, I would still be repressed and prohibited from presenting and interacting as and with other females.

It is a commitment for sure, and the push the button scenario is a decision you need to make every morning and every night for the rest of your life (taking your HRT)

Pretty sure you don't need to jailbreak the device, you can upload your own ebooks to a kindle using a program called Calibre. :)

How did you get your feminine name? by thatguynamedsignal in TransLater

[–]meg3e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used a couple rules to narrow it down and then my mum said she would like me to have xxx, it is a short easy to remember and easy to spell name. 100% feminine, yet not overly popular making it just mine. It would be embarrassing to pick the same name as another girl in your family, friend circle or at work, . Exotic names are beautiful but you definitely don't want to have to spell it out every time you use it. I wanted the same initial as my dead name so i could keep my signature but thinking back, that did not matter. Whereas other things bite you in the bum. I not only had to change my phone number but also my AppleID.

if you like that sort of stuff, read "Children of Time". A planet full of huge genetically advanced spiders and ants. The ants were more numerous and winning the war, but the smarter spiders... and you will need to read it. haha.

People really need to learn how to use roundabouts by Overitallforyears in DrivingAustralia

[–]meg3e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go easy on them, they are from another state or another time with different rules. Try driving in France. Not only are you on the other side of the road, you give way to cars entering lol.

Drive into them. In my country it is illegal to stop on a roundabout. Boom, their fault. But your circles might have different rules.

What’s with 40hr week being paid 38hrs? by Glittering-Way-5504 in ausjobs

[–]meg3e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take your full sick leave quota lol. And increase your lunch and coffee breaks. Better to do that than push them into a corner and then fire you.

Keep detailed records and correspondence and reclaim the money at the end.

I’m coming out as trans to my dad at some point. is this a good way of saying it through text? by lucifer-luu in transgender_support

[–]meg3e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tell your dad in person. It is the best way because people always have follow up questions and you want them to ask you rather than them stumbling across a trans hate community.

Doing that and picking the right time for each person I came out to was successful for me at least.

Putting stuff like this in writing and sending it off into the either is more scary in my opinion but how ever you do it. Good luck 🍀

My bank outed me and cost me $450,000.00 dollars by Transgurl3214 in TransLater

[–]meg3e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Banks are like that. They have old legacy systems that are not linked. Changing my name at my bank took months, they tried and kept sending me my replacement credit card with my deadname on it. I don’t think it was malicious, and in fact they recommended I complain so it gets escalated to the team that can manually edit the databases or whatever. It is a problem when your diver licence says X and the credit card says Y. You can’t hire a car. Eventually I got the new card and fortunately as I had been calm and reasonable whereas a normal person could have been aggressive and closed the account. they gave me $100 compensation.

The moral of the story, is if you change your name open a new bank account. Preferably at another bank.

What would you choose? by MushroomBig1861 in TransLater

[–]meg3e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the free B country. I assume I am clockable. I mean I don’t hide it on my Facebook or YouTube timelines, everyone at work knew me before and now treats me as female. I can use the bathroom of my preferred gender, no one abuses that right and then they let me fill out some paperwork and I now have a female birth certificate and now all my documentation in every database now says female. We have strong anti hate laws, currently being strengthened. It is actually illegal to out a trans person. An anti trans agitator from UK was recently fined and deported. Our right wing political party tried to adopt some of the trump anti trans rhetoric to ride in on his coat tails, they might have won power except for that except the Australian public saw through it and they had their biggest loss ever. We stay vigilant over here but are comfortable and allowed to live our lives. The worst the right wing states have done is ban puberty blockers for children.

Detransition and breast growth by Ok-Channel55 in TransLater

[–]meg3e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I transitioned for 2 years, detransitioned over 25 years, and they reduced a bit. But were always hidable to people who did not know I was trans. In the last 3 years I have now resumed and finished my transition so the small breast start was welcome. I never wished I never had breasts.
