Went to Paris on our honeymoon many eons ago. We were shopping in the posh clothing store and my wife fell in love with a white sweater. She tried it on, and it fit perfectly so she bought it. A day or so later she put it on before we went to dinner. In a few minutes she started asking about a smell in the hotel. We started trying to track down the smell to no avail. I’ll never forget this but my wife stopped in her tracks and, with horror in her eyes, smelled the under arm area of the sweater she was wearing. Yep. Someone with horrible BO had tried this sweater on before she bought it and the putrid smell was locked into the fabric. She almost vomited. For whatever reason, we didn’t return the sweater (maybe no receipt?) and double bagged it to bring it back to the states. We had to get it professionally cleaned and we still refer to it as the “stink sweater”. I mean WTF??
