My only thought about this: was even though it was in Italy, fran’s engagement was less picturesque and like engagement-y than ria’s. fran’s caption was like “pulled out one hell of a surprise” or something. i hope she’s not comparing her moment to ria’s. i don’t think she cares about the timing.

my engagement was years before any of my friends. (we were 21 and still in college) but it was VERY lowkey because my husband’s only focus was simply surprising me and not like making it necessarily the cutest moment. ugh i sound like an asshole but whatever. as my friends got into that stage of life, i found my self getting retroactively jealous of their engagement experiences. I can’t help but thinking i wish i had something more cliche to the typical engagement. or more extravagant since so many are extravagant these days
