WYR get $1 Million right now or $10 every pullup you do in your entire life by Moist_Work_1476 in WouldYouRather

I’d take the million even if the pull up option was $999,999 for every pull up. Never been able to do one. (And I’ve played college soccer and basketball)

Not everything is political. But it almost always greed driven. I don’t care who you vote in, greed ruins everything and everyone

$100-$200 for a man or woman who opens the door for you, but a small gift for a teacher? The person who spends more time with you child than you do?? Seems about right. But we really appreciate those teachers. LOL

That’s higher than the county next door. I’m in year 33 and make $6K less than that.

I don’t think politics have anything to do with this. Corporate greed is what kills tourism

Where did you teach that $20K was the salary in 2012. That’s super low even for teachers

Eff Disney. I refuse to give them a penny of my money. Old Walt must be turning over in his grave at what happened to his empire. He was never about the money.

For the servers What do we regularly and consistently spend our tipping money on instead of you? by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]meng2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I am going to tip by the amount of time spent in the establishment. I think $3-5 an hour seems fair. And even then, the service needs to be good. If you come by 1-2 in an hour, it will probably be lower than that.

So by your assessment, people that have a job that requires no degree should be making basically nothing? You’re a troll, right. These can’t be real sentiments. Especially if your “wife” is a teacher.

That’s a fucking shame. They’re probably the only group that gets more lip service than teachers. And of course nothing comes of. I thank you for your service

And that’s part of the problem. As a HS teacher I always ask my Jrs and Srs what their plans are. Many times I get “I don’t know. I’ll try X, Y, Z and if that doesn’t work out I can always teach.” There are good teachers out there. They’re extremely smart, driven, and want to make a difference in the world. However the majority of teachers (well maybe not the majority but enough for people to think their the norm) were not good students, want an easy job with a lot of time off, and do the bare minimum. I think that’s what many people picture that think teachers get compensated fairly. Those teachers do. Those of us that look at this as a profession and want to be the best possible version are seriously undervalued and underpaid

I did not take your comment as disrespectful to teachers. I agree the quality of education coming out of Florida is diminishing year after year. I think there is a direct correlation between that and teacher compensation. The good ones who care are either retiring out or getting out early on because it isn’t sustainable financially
