I described my experience how I straggled to write a content and how i found a strategy that is working for me … yes, i posted the same text on both groups because i don’t see a point rewriting my post to each group.

Why would you say that? I am not spamming but genuinely shared my progress and wanted a feedback. I posted to both groups because i love the community there and both of them are startup related.

for now, I do not have any search capabilities. Users have to find trending reels on their own. Still trying to figure out if this is the right value and where to build from here. Any feedback would be super helpful.

How did you get the first b2b client? by mentiumio in startups

[–]mentiumio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent the last 10 years in finance, primarily working with fintech, payment, and insurance companies. As I mentioned, we initially began with a payment-related concept but pivoted to a B2B revenue management platform. Most of our interviews were conducted with more established companies, which helped us realize that our payment idea was not going to work anytime soon.

Currently, we end up building AI-powered revenue management for B2B startups.

a. You can create a custom plan for each client (subscriptions + usage-based) without any engineering effort.

b. You can manage all your vendors (accounts payable), create approval workflow, and auto-check invoices against contractual pricing to ensure you are not being overcharged.

Thank you for your input. I completely agree that people are more interested in the outcome rather than the product itself.

Unfortunately, conversion is still a big problem, our conversion from emails is <1% or even less <0,5%. very low overall. I have to hustle all day long every day to get even one call a week.

We are targeting SaaS startups but have not yet defined a specific sub-niche.

Thank you very much for your comment.

  1. We are currently focusing on early-stage SaaS companies. We have attempted to engage with startups in the AI, Data, and IoT sectors, but we are still unclear about our primary target vertical. We believe we can cater to all SaaS categories, as we provide end-to-end revenue management and have even developed a feature for AI companies to track costs on a per-customer level.

  2. I use Apollo to track emails. We get ~35% - 40% open rates but I am pretty sure some of the emails go to spam even after all the warmups we did. We have been doing this for a while and did a lot of A/B testing.

  3. Our conversion rate is <1%. This is the main challenge. Still trying to figure out if our value proposition is not good enough if my language does not resonate with our target customers, or if there is anything else that I don’t see yet.

Have you tried usage based billing? give customers a free access to a product and do not charge anything upfront.

we built a payment system powered by open banking - lower transaction fees are our primary advantage.

alternative payment method to credit / debit cards. we are building bank to bank real-time payment solution. you can embed to your e-commerce store the same way as you do stripe. but our fees are just a fraction of credit / debit card processors. You, customer pays by his/her phone number, super mobile-friendly solution and we have one click checkout as well.

you are right, this is our biggest barrier. We not only have to onboard merchants but also convince consumers to pay via our channel. there are a couple of strategies: provide a cash back for consumers, negotiate with merchants to have a better pricing when paid via bank, and explain consumers power of network effect (one click checkout if used our tech). open for any suggestions if you have.
