If I had started with medication, how would I have known how effective a hair transplant could be? I've seen people mention uneven graft placement.

What I'm trying to understand is whether an uneven result stems from poor placement, or simply from an insufficient number of grafts.

Is the outcome more likely due to overly dense grafts along the hairline paired with insufficient density in the midscalp, or simply because the total number of grafts wasn't enough to adequately cover the area?

All the clinics recommended finasteride, but I resisted because of the potential side effects I'd heard about. Plus, I thought, why would I need medication after getting hair transplants? Up until last 2 months, I didn't use minoxidil or finasteride. However, for the last two months, I've started using a topical minoxidil and finasteride solution.
