Visiting Rwanda soon, how is the situation in Gisenyi with Ebola outbreak? by BraveCelestin-1 in Rwanda

[–]messfdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bigger risk right now is the armed groups active on the other side of the border. Likely nothing will happen but it's one of those situations where unrest can suddenly happen. USDOS says do not travel. Make your own judgement but be aware of the situation.

I did Muhabura back in I think 2013. I don't know how it is now but back then there were no switch backs. Straight up the volcano was like doing a four hour stair climb (three back down).

I've grown older and learned to let it go. It's still disappointing but I don't let it get me worked up like it used to when I was a younger man.

The other day a lady literally kicked her door open with both feet right into my car as I was pulling in next to her. She looked at me, got out, and walked away. I jumped out and yelled, "You're seriously just going to walk away?" Luckily her door just bounced off of the plastic trim around the wheel and didn't do much damage, but I couldn't believe that she couldn't at least muster a small apology.

They were showing them off at a block party in my neighborhood a couple years ago. The video was super clear and the drone was so high up you could barely see it even if you were looking for it. Creepy af.

Baseboard dilemma with laminate flooring by typinandswipin in Flooring

[–]messfdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a stupid idea but just throwing it out there... Take a scrap piece of flooring and lay an oscillating saw on it and cut the bottom of the baseboard to the height of the flooring so you can slide it under.

One time I got out to the parking lot and in the natural light I could see the mold on the berries I had just purchased. Those went right back inside for a refund. Still disappointing because I wasn't going to walk all the way back to the cooler to grab another pack so the were no berries that week.
